over all hotel is good, placed centrally al Mall road, but you will find similar hotels at better pricing. one worst thing happened with us was on 2nd day there was a Rat in our room, dont know how long it must have been there, and this really put us off and upset our entire trip. tough the hotel guys immediately changed our room but the children were terrified and just wanted to check out as they were feeling very dirty to stay over, my daughter felt sick with this entire episode and didnt have any meals that entire day with such an episode. the hotel must be doing their pest controls etc, but certainly not acceptable when you are paying such high cost, that's because Hygiene is must and very much required, the hotel owner was very casual about the entire episode and said it must have been because of rains outside the Rat must have crept in from somewhere. that is certainly not an explanation which is acceptable. Another drawback was even after charging us so much no breakfast in included and its only on Al a carte basis which is also very expensive as everything is highly priced, you get the same breakfast just 2 /3 hotels away at much cheaper rates.

Location - 5/5 - right on the mall road. Once you book this property, you're sorted. You dont have to look for a better location. Enjoy All the hustle bustle of the mall road sitting in your balcony and have a great time. Rooms - 4/5 (suite and upwards) economy and standard rooms are just okayish. Suites and upwards, rooms are decent in size and all the rooms are clean and decently spaced. They also have family rooms. Bathrooms - 3.5/5 - bathrooms are big but old fashioned. Tiles are broken at some places. Some modular fittings could really change the way they look and add an extra bonus point from the customers. In-House Restaurant 2/5 - very very expensive which is why it remained empty mostly. The owner should really give a thought to the pricing considering when there are so many options right at an arms distance. Room Service 3/5 - it varies depending upon the occupancy. When we visited, the hotel was packed and therefore the service was a bit slow. Why should you book? - its right on the mall road, rooms are very well maintained and decently spaced, picturesque view of naini lake, courteous staff. There are other hotel options too but Alka gives you a complete package. What could be better? - They still follow the tipping culture and the staff expects to be tipped for almost everything they are already paid to do. The WIFI is really slow and should be worked upon. The resturant should revise its prices to attract more crowd. The rooms could have slightly better lighting but thats a personal preference.

I have never seen people talking so rudely with any customer. They are not at all flexible. Have no interest in getting customers. The management should surely intervene and see what their staff is doing.

Everything was just Excellent. Courteous Management and Staff, always ready to help and make you happy. The hotel is located at Mall Road and view from the Balconies are excellent covering the Mall Road and the Naini Lake. The ambience/decor in the rooms as well as in the Restaurant very very nice. Would certainly stay in the same hotel whenever visit Nainital next.

This is the worst property to stay, the owner/family is minting money over location at Mallital, Nainital. However, there are better properties in Nainital that overlooks Lake and there is nothing much at Mall Road, Nainital other than some 3-4 branded outlets for shopping and 2-3 outlets selling first copy clothing of various brands which are made in Ludhiana. In covid times, it’s a big NO for this property, just for display they a sanitiser at Reception whereas as entire staff doesn’t consider COVID precautions and safety, they say covid has disappeared and even if someone is to be infected, that’s his/ her destiny. (Restaurant staff keeps clean glass for next customer on table by putting fingers inside glass). Every 24 hours you have to go to reception to request new access for WiFi. Staff is very rude, they food from kitchen to room open without covering so anything can fall in your food, anyone can sneeze, you won’t even know about it. The staff in the restaurant is very rude they in a way as if they are doing favor to customers by serving food and there is no other property or restaurant in entire Nainital like Alka. This is where they are wrong. In food, they don’t know how to prepare anything better than Indian home made made(this is the concept of restaurant), eat here if you want to try paratha, Chole bhature type dishes. However, there are better restaurants in the vicinity like Nanak etc. Their rooms are worn out and very old, bathrooms are old and stinks, even after cleaning, it also feels like someone is peril ping in your bathroom from shaft and you can hear conversations (dirty bathing cubical, old dirty toilet seats and washbasin) even if you are opting for a room costing around INR 10000 per night, poor rooms and horrible property. They boast about central heating however the heating doesn’t work all the time, it stops working at late night and many times it doesn’t even work during day. If you research properly then for the price you pay at this property you can get better properties in Nainital(Tallital/ Mallital), Bhimtal, Nakuchiatal. This is a family run property, don’t expect professionalism from hotel staff and owners, you will be disappointed, even furniture is old in their rooms worth INR 10000 per night. Please don’t waste your money by paying excessively for property not better than an old hostel. Also, for people with disability / old people with difficulty in walking, this is not one stay as rooms other than family apartment are from First to fourth floor and there is no lift till first floor so take 20 steep steps for your room. Please don’t waste your money. Horrible ownership and property, they think they are doing a favor to customers by allowing them stay at their whims and fancies.

It has a perfect location. One of the best you will get. We had dinner & breakfast in hotel. Both were good. Rooms were average but not bad. We stayed in a standard room - small , manageable for 1-2 days. Checkin & checkout was fine. No parking

This is very nice and well maintained hotel. The location is very nice at the mall road which makes this hotel even more special. Rooms are very cozy and very well maintained. They have centralised heater which makes stay even more comfortable, runs 4pm to 9 am. Every Room have a lake view with a balcony with good space. This is of all age group hotel as they have lift goes to all floors. They have very nice fine dining restaurant also serve food in your room. Food is tasty and not at all expensive. Room service is very good and fast. In comparison to other hotels its not very expensive with all such comfort. I highly recommend this hotel for any occasion with your friends and family.
