During the 1909-10 Jim Corbett established a brokerage business in Nainital and was reputedly involved in setting up a local bank in Nainital for which he provided the land upon which the building was erected. This fact has never been substantiated; but the bank failed and after some years this building was used as a private residence, became a boarding house and subsequently The Swiss Hotel. Corbett’s company, FEG Mathews, owned this building from 1910-1929 as per the records of the Municipal Board of Nainital. This building was known as Manor House in previous days. In the year 1957 Manor House became The Swiss Hotel. The Swiss Hotel has british architecture with bay windows, fire places, wood work and sprawling rooms. at present this heritage property is owned by the AAR Resorts and Hospitality LLP. And on the legendry side connection of this property to Jim Corbett will definitely add to your curiosity. Describing about our experiences, starting from looks, presentability, offerings, Maientance of class & values, location & VIP vicinity, complimentary picking dropping facility, Nightlife has its own charm, indulge with dear ones while enjoying tasteful live band music under the starlit sky, Gazeebos for more cozyness, fountain to exhilarate you, Gym and Spa to shape your figure, Truly luxury is redefined here. As it is nestled in the Pine tree slopes of mighty Himalayas you feel more pampered, must say that this hotel is far ahead of competition. Our three night stay was undeniably rejuvenating and sheer bliss.

This was one unexpected day during our four-day visit to the Kumon region. Although the stay was not planned it converted into our best day in Kumon. The property was close to the lake, just beside to high court ( they provided complimentary pick and drop service also )Our cottage was neat and clean, and small things were also being arranged luxuriously. The beautiful interior, sprawling lawn and fountain were the charms of the property, stars are being added by evening live music and a comfortable sitting arrangement. The food was great and tasty, and Mr Rajesh's chef is accomplishing an amazing job ( we are very particular about south Indian food, which fulfilled our expectations ). This kind of flawless service was the result of the personal involvement of the owner ( Mr Jain ) and Mr Bali (GM ) Mr Jain was personally interacting with guests for suggestions. Overall we are grateful for this team effort .

I booked two rooms for 3 nights at Swiss Hotel by Shivraj at Mallital, Nainital...Hotel is too good and rooms are so well made and maintained. Very prompt services, very good food quality and above all very courteous staff. Hotel is just 1.5 kms away from Nainital Lake, The Mal Road. They have an option for free dropping and picking facilities near SBI Branch (just 100 mtrs walking) from the Ropeway and to Boating place. I shall recommend my friends and relatives to stay at this place, whenever planning to visit Nainital. Thanks to all Staffs and needless to mention the prompt services rendered by Mr. Prem FOM , Radhika , Pooran at Restaurant and Negi , The Bell Boy

Booked 5 rooms here, been here 2 days back for 3 nights. Staff there was very rude and are not man of their own words. First they commit us things and later on refuse to commit. Female staff especially had a bad encounter with Jyoti working in house keeping department. She had the courtesy to call the customers as fussy customer on our face while I just asked for toiletries refills that were missing after room cleanup. They created a lot of scene covering over their own mistake. They don't know how to say sorry irrespective of that they start abusing customers. Restaurant staff was comparatively well behaved. I would not recommend to stay more than a day here as the house keeping staff turns out to be rude if u ask for any help or cleanup. Don't book deluxe room without seeing, a lots of issue is there..no ventilation.. no fresh air.. no natural light.. as if u are in a box. No supply of hot water...at an instant its too hot n then seconds later too cold water. Bathing was a difficult task. They upgraded rooms of new customers and we were staying there in deluxe room and we have requested for room upgradation upon arrival itself but even after promising us they did not upgraded our room.

I stayed at room no 206 from 11-13th April, they kept refreshment in the room any they charged 850 at the time of check out. In refreshment, there was only 3 packet of chips, 3 packet of biscuits and 2 cold drinks which total cost not will be more than 150 rs. When we checked in we thought it is complimentary and it was not mentioned anywhere it is chargeable. They didn't served welcome drink and hi tea which was included in my package. Very limited breakfast, fruit was not fresh. Spa name should remove as it was closed

I stayed at room which has windows. They kept refreshment in the room like 3 wafers and 3-4 cookies/biscuits. Next day when we are back after visiting market place the room was so dirty and the cookies are not there and some powder of cookies are on the table. The packets of wafers are same in bucket as it kept. While discussing with reception they are telling that the monkeys have come and might eat those cookies but quite good monkeys are, “they didn’t even touch a wafer”. Wow…… They are doing this because they want total amount of around 800 added in our bill without even touch their cookies. Never ever stay there. They spoil your mood.

I randomly chosen this hotel as I am a frequent visitor in Nainital. I have stayed in almost all the good hotels. But Swiss Hotel is by far the best hotel in Nainital. Rooms are very well maintained washrooms has Italian marble finish. Buffet spead is very good and tasty. Services are prompt. I will sure visit here again and highly recommended to all my family and friends

I am on road trip at the moment and booked into this hotel during our travel and were happy with the view and cleanliness of the area. room 109 had problems with no outside views and bathroom mixer tap was faulty, so after complaining we were moved into another room which was better. They got the heating facilities too and staff were very polite. I was informed that they have separate kitchen area for veg and non veg in restaurants but was disappointed to see a plate of salami slices next to toast/bread section during the breakfast 😒. Bit expensive for our budget but we enjoyed our stay

The Swiss Hotel Restaurant on Wed. nights serves a pot roast that exceeds my mom’s! So juicy and flavorful, served over luscious mashed potatoes with lovely seasonal veggies on the side. They often run out so ask your waitress when you enter to reserve some. The price is quite reasonable and matched with a nice wine, dining either on the back patio or inside is an elegant, totally satisfying experience. Dawn, our waitress was helpful and delightful.

We had a fabulous time at the Swiss hotel with our family, it’s a newly built property situated right amongst hills and clouds quite literally. From the very start when I contacted the hotel for booking devendar was very accommodative to all our needs and requests and once we reached we were offered a beautiful hill
Facing room, do find my girl Gulshan at the reception, she made our check in so smooth and informative and also the best in-house photographer, she clicked some amazing pics for us. The hotel food is amazing and we had breakfast included in our package which was really wholesome, the staff was always attentive to our needs and always ready to serve, a special mention to Aman, Gaurav and Gopal who made our stay more memorable with their fabulous services for me and my family, thank you to the entire Swiss hotel team for making our stay wonderful. Highly recommend to anyone travelling to Nainital!
