Nice, modern well equipped rooms. Evening meal tasty, recommend the rabbit and almond source but vegetarian options available. Lovely breakfast, plenty of choice of cereals , yoghurt, toast etc. Fresh orange juice and plentiful and good tea and coffee. A lovely lounge with an open fire was most welcome for the cool Alpujarra nights as was the bath for a...

Three days was not enough time to really get the full benefit of relaxed mountain life at Hotel Los Berchules. The almond trees were still in flower, but suntan lotion had to be applied whilst lying in the sun and eating a picnic by the ruins of a Moorish silk mill after an idyllic walk up a mountain valley. Our...

Our two nights at Hotel Los Berchules were included in a walking tour in the area. Wendy and Alejandro were great hosts. The 3-course dinners were well-prepared with different choices every evening. A comfortable, quiet hotel with great sunset views if your room is in the front of the building.

Come to Hotel Berchules and enjoy amazing hospitality provided by Wendy, Alejandro, Csilla and Omar. We had three marvelous days in Las Alpujarras and loved every moment! The family's warmth is so apparent in how they welcome guests with hiking advice, car rides to trailheads & an eagerness to talk and share life experiences. The rooms are very comfortable and...

As a member of a group of painters who have been to the hotel for the sixth successive year, and no doubt more trips to come I must praise the continuity of the standard of food, the attentiveness of the staff and their ability to converse well in most European languages at the same time as making everyone feel at home...

The hotel is located on the southern side of the Sierra Nevada mountains and ideal for hiking. The hotel will provide maps and guide notes for 40 plus...

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Los Berchules. Everything from the accommodations to the food was excellent. But the helpfulness of Wendy and her family was what made our stay extra special! Wendy is extremely knowledgeable about all the walks in the area and has a plethora of books and maps to assist hikers. Alejandro even drove...

Hotel Los Berchules is owned and run by Wendy Tamborero Gibson and her son Alejandro and his wife Sheila. It is in a stunning protected village of narrow lanes between the white flat roofed houses clinging to the steep hillsides high in the Sierra Nevada with magnificent walks from the hotel along paths ancient Moorish watercourses, some long some short....

We stayed here for 3 nights in August on a walking holiday and enjoyed the warm and knowledgable hospitality of Wendy and family. The rooms are spacious and comfortble and the food is great. We particularly enjoyed eating dinner outside looking over towards the mountain tops as the sun set in the evenings, This a great area for hiking and...

Wendy and family were so helpful , making sure our holiday was a memorable experience. As bird-watching is our main pursuit the weekly hiking package with transport was adapted to meet our needs. A good mix of routes, at different altitudes to include varied habitats ensured we had the opportunity to observe and photograph several species of birds and butterflies,...
