Very old-fashioned hotel, with traditional and good Norwegian food. Friendly staff. I recommend the trip to Bitihorn (1.607 meters) with great views. A boat trip on Bygdin was good, and we had a beautiful walk from Torfinnsbu in a valley between 2.000 meters mountain tops on both sides. You can also travel to Gjendesheim by car or bus and take...

The hotel is situated in beautiful surroundings, and the public areas of the hotel are very cozy. I liked the beautiful hotel doggie that we met as soon as we walked in the door. It just laid around and bothered noone, and it gave the hotel an interesting touch. The staff are helpful and will give you plenty of attention....

This old mountain hotel at the start of Valdresflye, on a road through amazing scenery, is really cosy and provides delicious "home cooked" meals. A popular stopping place for tourists, either just for a snack, a meal or overnight, and at the starting point for several beautiful hikes. We, a retired couple, stayed there with young grandchildren and we all...

the hotel is old, and has charm, the rooms are basic rather than comfortable, the food is OK but not up to usual excellent standards in Norway. It's expensive, the value is in the outstanding beauty of the surrounding countryside rather than the quality of service offered.

This is a charming hotel from yesteryear. Friendly service and stunning views. Stayed in a twin room overlooking the lake. Were a bit reluctant to accept a room without en suite facilities, but the bathroom was close by and it was no bother at all. The building was well kept and very clean throughout. The facilities were basic and perfectly...

We were a group of 14 using Bygdin as a base for a trekkong weekend. Highlight was the beautiful 7 hour (with rests) walk alpng Besseggen. Absolutely fantastic views and experience. The day begins with a drive from the hotel to a ferry and then the walk (very steep in places) which takes you almost back to where you left...

Everything about this place is one of a kind. The people, the food, the scenari and the atmosphere! The walls of the hotel is just soaked in history. I'm going back this year! This is a place you want to come back to again and again.
