Detailed Reviews
This small hotel (only 20 rooms) is central but quiet situated and only a short stroll away from a park along the river, the long beach, the neigborhood with restaurants or the big streets with almost everything you need for your daily life, but fortunately (in my opinion) you don’t find many typical souvenir shops.
The hotel is modern, very clean, has spacious rooms facing the river and the city. Warm blankets were placed in the wardrobe during the few cold days, since there is no heating in the building. In the large bathroom (shower) you find all amenities for your stay.
A fridge, a water heater and bottles of drinking water in the room. Coffee and tea bags, water refill or hot water etc. in the reception area, where you will also get your booked breakfast served, or a drink.
But especially when it is beautiful sunshine, one can enjoy from the top floor on the terrace (only one room there) an almost 360o view over the city, but if you like, you can also explore the area on a bike (free).
The very friendly, charming owner, but also all staff members give you the warm feeling to be almost part of the family and they are very helpful to answer all questions you have and also help by booking the various tours to the caves (and you feel that they realy love their job).
I planned to stay just only one or two days, but extended

I have been staying at this hotel since October 2020, and have to say it has been my home from home, their ratings do not do it justice in my opinion, and can quite honestly say the service and staff are equivalent to any 5 star hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms are cleaned daily and fully replenished as well, on top of this and having been staying as long as I have, they also do my laundry as well, which is an absolute god send for me and certainly makes my life easier. Honestly give this hotel a try, and I promise you will not be disappointed, if anything you will be pleasantly surprised, and you will definitely get value for your money guaranteed.

We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. Room was clean and spacious. Not all the staff was able to speak English but this is not unusual in Vietnam. Through the staff which did speak English we were able to book a daytrip to the caves in Phong Nha which is absolutely worth a visit!
Staff in general was very helpful and even booked us tickets for the sleeper train to Hanoi.
Location is very good although it is generally quite difficult to find a restaurant with a menu in English (we managed with pointing out pictures on the menu).
Dong Hoi is a city with a lot of potential which, however, still has to be developed (lots of opportunities for nice bars and restaurants along the seaside which are not there yet).

17 thousand Stars for Nam Long Hotel. I lived in Nam Long Hotel Plus from August 2020 to Decemeber 2021, and I call it my home. Ha, Hong, Nho, Lieu are sweet and beautiful people, but Thuy (Kate) is the prettiest. The beds are comfortable, sheets are clean, clean bathroom with hot and cold shower. They took care of me when I got sick, bought me medicine and cooked for me. Hong cooks really good clay pot rice hai san, mi xao, chao canh, banh mi, sot vang, spring rolls, etc. Ha cooks the best com trang. Lieu cooks best banh xeo. Nho have sweet smile. Ms. Nga and staff gave me porcelain caphe phin and coffee when I went back to Philippines. They are lovely.
Around Nam Long Hotel Plus there are many cafe, pho shop, beer shop, and Nhat Le beach, Bao Ninh beach, beautiful park by Nhat Le river. You can rent motorbike from Nam Long and drive to Phong Nha. I did it many times. They also have a rental cars for your Tour to the Caves. Nam Long will take care of you and make your stay memorable.

This Hotel is in a great location near the river. There are lovely cute cafes and restaurants all around. The area is clean and has a French feel to it. Reviews of Dong Hoi don’t give this town justice as there are lots of things to do nearby. Walk from the hotel along the river esplanade or get up early and walk to the dawn fishing boat market. This hotel has views from the large extremely clean rooms. The staff are great and a good a la carte breakfast available. The hotel run tours to the caves which are great and are small personal groups.
This is my second time back to this hotel and I will continue to come back. The first time I did by myself and this time I brought a friend. So I’ve done the tours twice now. My friend loved the hotel and wanted to go back.

Very conveniently located family hotel with super kind & helpful staff! My train arrived at 5:45 am in the morning, in the pouring rain. Not only the hotel owner helped to arrange pickup for me at such early time, they checked me in right away at 6am! i was also able to order some hot breakfast before heading out for a cave tour day.
Rooms are spacious and clean. The owner and staff has a very relaxing & flexible vibe, which I truly enjoy. There is also an amazing seafood restaurant just around the corner (3 min walk). For the price, I think this is a great deal!

We stayed at the comparatively new Nam Long Plus hotel in the old quarter.
We were greeted by Ha who spoke good English and was always smiling and friendly. The room was large clean and tidy and serviced daily. Breakfasts were adequate and free as part of the stay. Ha offered good advise and we used a scooter to explore nearby beaches. Ha organised our tour to Paradise cave and dark cave as well. She also organised our onward travel with a bus change to get to Hoi An. Her assistance and local knowledge was greatly appreciated.

Stayed 3 nights here following cave tour on the way to Hue. Previous host tried to discourage me from stopping here at all for lack of anything to do but we enjoyed it. The hotel room was huge, fantastic view of river from 7th floor and the staff here is great. Breakfast was $2.00 USD and very generous. Someone said adequate?? Really ?? What you didn’t eggs Benedict and a steak ??
The very walkable area is loaded with restaurants and coffee shops and the traffic is very light. It was very easy to spend 3 nights here and explore the laid back city. Recommend.

Stayed for three nights with the wife. Room was a decent size and clean. No Safe but not really a problem. Aircon, big fridge and view from standard double room were good. Breakfast was from a set menu and fine. Hotel was in a good location for the limited shops/bars and restaurants that were in our part of DH. Staff were chatty and helpful. Fridge full of beer and soft drinks in entrance and it was a 'help yourself, settle up later' attitude which was refreshing. Both Dung and the other chap we had dealings with over our stay were very friendly and helped arrange our tour to the caves / transfer to the airport etc.
Good value hotel for the price paid.

I have stayed here on a short and longer term basis and have found the staff to be very helpful. The hotel is not 5 star but for the price you can't beat it. The bedtooms are spacious and comfortable with Aircon, a fan and a fridge. Breakfast is simple but tasty and there are also cafes nearby for other meals. I definitely recommend if you're on a budget!

Same as the previous reviewer, you should contact the hotel first. They drove us to the train station, but there was a charge for it.
Dear Mr. Peter,
Thank you for your booking our rooms and would like to get our tour. Yes we are going to serve tour service on Tet duration as well so please visit our tour website at tourtothecaves dark com for more information and booking tour tickets directly. Thank you very much!
Thank you for booking and asking. The time for check in at 2 pm but if we have available room then we let you check out early. Normally our guests check out around 7-8 am therefore I think that is ok for you. If you want to go to the caves in the same day then pls tell us know and we will keep tour tickets for you.
Thank you very much for asking. That tour cost 1050000 vnd . For more further information please visit our website thank you very much!
Hi,
In order to get an answer to your question, you should probably contact the hotel directly, not through TripAdvisor. TripAdvisor is primarily for travellers searching for advice from other travellers, not for travellers trying to contact hotels/attractions/etc.
Good luck! You're choosing a fantastic place to stay
