Barefoot Homestay is located in a quiet fishing village. The location is super peaceful because it’s away from the hustle and bustle of town.It has a garden, lounge, and outdoor bar and restaurant. The vibe is relaxed and quiet with its nice view toward the mountains, river, and city and a BBQ for everybody to enjoy. Great spot for swimming, kayaking, tubing, and watching the sunset.

Detailed Reviews
The moment you walk into the bar area you see how beaufiful the back group is with the river, the fishing boats and the mountains.
The owners of this place have paid a lot of attention to detail to make this place relaxing and the staff are oh so friendly and always happy to serve you.
The beds are really comfy and massive in the dorm rooms with lockers provided at the end of each bed.
For the sunset you could walk over to the man made beach, lay in the lazy chairs with a beer or walk towards the end of the pier they have set up, and trust me you won't be dissapointed with the colours that pop in the sky when the sun goes down.
You can also see the city's longest bridge going over the river as you watch the sunset, which lights up in the evening, adding more character for those interested is getting a good shot of the sunset.
Also, try to catch fish in the river with the staff, it's a fun experience.

This is by far the best place we've stayed since being in Vietnam. The staff are really friendly and the owner is lovely and really helpful. We had a private room and then a dorm room. Both were flawless. Everything was clean and the surroundings are beautifully done! They organised us a transfer and lent us bikes so we could visit the beach. It's mm the river so the sun set is amazing and only a 10 minute or so bike ride to the beach. Would definitely come back and would definitely recommend.

We rented 1 cottage with 6 beds for family with 3 kids. From the moment we arrived all the staff and the manager Tung made it a great welcome for us. They went the extra mile and were very friendly to our kids as well. Price quality ratio is probably the best in town. They just opened up when we stayed there so there are always some small things to improve but the smile and readiness to make things better was heart warming to see.
We will be back and definitely come by and say hello to Tung and the team.

This "hostel" was the worst place I have ever been... the staff didn't speak English, they didnt knew I booked a room, they were drunk and wanted to put a lock on my bedroom with me inside. I ran away from this place with my bags in the middle of the night. No matter how cheap it is... I would never recommend this place to anyone... not even my worse enemy .

Best place in Dong Hoi. Very relaxing; beach, swings, fibes. The staff really try to make you comfortable and arranged everything for you, even a jetski! They are great!
The decoration is beautiful and detailed.
The place is great, because it is near (with the bike) to the beach and nice and quiet. Recommend it to everyone!

This is a good place to escape from the busy life. I was here for a short stay on the way from Phong Nha to Hue city. The homestay locates in a quiet alley on the riverside quỵ a garden and flower, faraway from Dong Hoi city center 10 minutes taxi. However, they provide free bicycle for traveling around and motorbike rental is also available here. They have cottages for group of friends or couple. Rooms and bathrooms are clean. Vietnamese breakfast is included in the room rate although the price is amazing. There is a bar and some recreation facilities, too. They open till late night but they are located in a different area so don't affect guests' sleep. I highly recommend this homestay and would come back here in the future.

I stayed there for 5 nights and I really loved this place for it’s peaceful atmosphere and the lovely people there. The beds were very comfortable and soft. You even get omelette or soup or a sandwich for free for breakfast. You can also rent a kajak and explore Dong Hoi from the river. They have also free bikes. When I went to the Phong Nha nationalpark they brought me to the bus station in town and picked me up in the evening.
Dong Hoi is a very neat town and not fully discovered by tourists, so very enjoyable if you want to get off the main tourist spots. I would always stay there again! Thank you so much :)

Amazing view, right on the river! Cool and unique rooms, friendly (English speaking) helpful staff. Knowledgeable management, rentals, tours, and the manager is a real handsome devil. You really can’t beat that view. The sunsets right behind the mountains on the river. Wow!
