Firstly, when we called the Summit customer care number for hotel booking in Gangtok, we were told that this is the nearest from MG Marg, however, we found out later that there is one right on MG Marg. Not sure if there are multiple chains of Summit hotels. Coming to the location, it is definitely walking distance from MG Marg, but the last stretch of road to the hotel was poorly lighted. Infact it was very dark, as we returned to hotel sometimes around 10 PM at night. I feel the hotel authorities could do something to provide more lights at least on that narrow stretch outside the hotel premises. We were given rooms at the ground floor( just beside the SPA) ,which did not offer any views. The rooms were very small, even the beds - we had difficulty sleeping with our 8 year old. The rooms did not have AC. There was one wall mounted fan but that was not working, hence a stand fan was provided in our room which made our room look further smaller. The weather was very warm in the daytime and definitely fan is required. No buckets are provided in the bathroom unless you ask for it. Service was also very slow. It took a lot of time to even provide water in the room. Tea/Coffee was not served outside certain hours. The breakfast spread was also average and we had to wait and queue up for that. There was a power outage on the 2nd night and there was no backup for several hours. Proper generator backup should be there in a hotel of such stature. Overall not a good experience at all

Stayed here for three nights along with my family. Experienced their deluxe room and premium room both. Premium rooms are better in terms of space and view. Rooms are equipped with all necessary amenities. Neat and clean. View wasn't so great from deluxe room. They have some open area which was a plus point for them as kids may play there and it can be used as parking lot. There is a small sitting area outside. Food wasn't so great. Speed was less. Lacking taste and freshness. Approach road to hotel is very steep. No so great fir old people if they plan to go to MG area by their own. MG road is close and on walking distance. Service was little slow and responce for from desk was cold. Except these point, stay was good.

Visited the property for a day on the 9th May and found the place to be located very near MG Road 10-15 min walk and nestled away in a valley down and away from the city traffic. Staff was extremely helpful and courteous and gave us a good room with a view of the valley and the ropeway. Food was okay mostly Indian North Indian cuisine but could have been better. Rooms were neat and clean and all requests made at the room were immediately attended to.

Overall a decent experience. A little walk to reach MG marg. One suggestion though, to have street lights on the internal road that leads to the hotel. Food served was good. Good view of mountains from hotel rooms. A nice hotel to stay for family or couples.

Location, view & room is good. However, service of staff was very slow. Food was average. Breakfast had raw fruits. Basic amenities like TV & geyser were not functioning properly. No indoor games. No lift. Overall, not a good experience which we were expecting with family.

New property, central location, very good rooms, BUT...... First the good -- we booked this place for our first family trip to Sikkim. weather was still good with minimum temperature in single digits. Hotel is located right in the center of Gangtok, just few minutes walks to MG road. Rooms are spacious, linen perfect. We were put up on top floor with excellent views. Service staff friendly and that's where the good ends. From the movement we checked in the lifts were not working and we had to climb the stairs to the 5th floor and the lift did not work till we checked out ! So all thru the stay we had to use the stairs ! Next major problem bathroom had no hot water for bathing again till the time we checked out it did not work ! The staff tried supplying water in buckets from ground floor, but that did not work. Tried getting managers/supervisor contacts, but to no avail, it was the reception staff who were trying to solve, with management hiding somewhere! During checkout I wanted complete refund but after lot of arguments, they just provided part discount for the last day room rent ! Complete mismanagement of a potentially a good hotel. SO IF YOU ARE BOOKING ONLINE BETTER GET ASSURANCE THAT LIFT IS WORKING AND RUNNING HOT WATER AVAILABLE!

We had a pleasant stay in the hotel. The location is good, away from the hustle and bustle of the main town. The view from our room which was a valley view room was nice. The room was big and spacious. The toilet and its fittings could have been better. The staff were very courteous and well behaved. On my request they provided a valley view room. Food is good, the breakfast buffet had lot of options but it would be great if they could add some local dishes in the menu. The walk to MG Marg requires a steep uphill climb which is quite unsuitable for elderly people. People with walking problem will need a taxi. Kanchenjunga peak was visible from the hotel ground. Overall it was a nice stay
