The hotel is located in the center of the city making it very easy to travel across town. The entire staff is very helpful and co-operative. Rooms are clean and very spacious. The food was also very good. We had a mix of veg and non-veg, and both tasted equally good.

Hotel new castle offers some authentic Chinese and Tibetan foods. The smoky aroma mixed with the sizzling taste of a Mongolian dish give you some memorable experience at Sikkim. Make sure to visit the restaurant while you are at Gangtok.

Was here on work for just a day but the good reviews on different sites gave us confidence to book Newcastle.
Genuinely good service. We reached late but they opened up their restaurant for us to have a meal and our breakfast was ready on the dot of 7 so we could start off early.
Clean rooms. Hot water. Good tasty food. Lovely ambience.
Really appreciated Raviji's service.

We actually started our business 33 years ago, in the year 1989, with a multi - cuisine restaurant only. Tourism was at its infancy and the restaurant was and is still one of the most popular one among locals and tourists. As we feel,there is still more to see and experience in Sikkim, we would be glad to have you back and also suggest your stay at our other property,The Saramsa Resort, at Gangtok . I recommend not to book this hotel as my experience was badly affected by this stay. 1. No lift and it is not mentioned anywhere. So, you are the coolie to carry all your luggage to first floor (even if you have lots of luggage. ) 2. Wardrobe provided was half the height of a normal person. 3. Room had so many lights but none were sufficient to even light up the room, so it was like a dark movie setup. 4. Window was provided but was instructed not to open as fly, birds etc. could get in and make the room dirty. So, we were not allowed to have fresh air (and no ac room due to cold weather in Gangtok.) 5. One person handles both the hotel reception and the restaurant; so you may have to call his mobile number every time you need anything. 6. Hotel restaurant gets closed by 8:30pm (which was not informed to us and guess what nothing about the hotel was informed to us while check-in) and you will have to either walk out for food or order online. 7. If you ask for breakfast early in the morning, you will get to know that the restaurant starts at 8am, so if you plan to get out for the tour at early hours, don't select complimentary breakfast option as you will never get before 8am. 8. We had ordered chicken gravy for lunch and the smell and taste was like of some chemical used chicken. The restaurant serves pork too. 9. One morning we had to take bath in cold water as the geyser was not working, and when informed to house keeping guy, he went out of the room door and switched on a switch which will turn on the geyser. It was not informed to us that to use geyser we need to switch on once outside the room door and then once inside the bathroom. 10. You may feel after staying here that you have not got the service you expected and you have paid for. So, don't select this hotel. You have better choices available in mg marg.

I stayed at this location for two nights. I must say, the place is very well located adjacent to the main road in Deorali. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The place offers a good dining menu with great options for all sorts of travellers. A special shout out to Mr. Rajan Gurung and Mr. Ravi Rai for their exceptional courtesy. I definitely recommend this place for stay in Gangtok.

THE WORST experience we have EVER had on any holiday! Terrible place. Indiffrenet staff, no service. Unclean rooms, dirty linen, NO room service. No soap or toilet paper in the washroom. No one answers thje phone and when someone does, we are told the "store is locked" and the "kitchen is closed." I am appauled how this "property" - far away from the only market in Gangtok - can get such reviews on TripAdviser. Either the guests were BLIND or these 'reviews' have been paid. Could go on and on but, please, TripAdviser, seriously, have a look at the place before allowing such reviews on this page. Does not do well for the reputation of the portal!

My family had booked this hotel for 3 nights for our stay in Gangtok. The hotel is strategically placed in Deorali market and is in close proximity to the local taxi stand. Inside the hotel, the rooms were warm, cozy and beautifully done. Also a mesmerizing view of mountains outside our windows. The staff guided by Mr.Ravi were cheerful,friendly and helpful. Kudos to them! As a foodie, the hotel offered authentically prepared local meals and they were excellent and very appealing to me. Summing up, New Castle is the best hotel which provides value for money.
