Detailed Reviews
Outstanding to say the least. The entire experience starting from the booking, arrival, stay, food, the host (Emile), the staff, the room, roof top restaurant were of top notch. Nothing to complaint about. Rooms were kept clean throughout and all the staffs had good hygine, always wore masks. The only nit picky drawback is the small size of the bathrooms, but honestly everything else makes up for it. Just 2-3 mins walk from the beach. We stayed in the balcony room overlooking the street (photo attached).
A special shout out to ever smiling Emile (the manager) who helped us with all of our questions and guided us to opt(or opt out) for certain tour plans. Fantastic experience.

Le Chateau is a nice and quaint little hotel smack in the middle of White Town. So location wise you can’t get better than this. Just step out of the hotel and go for those relaxing walks and visit cafes that are at stone’s throw away. The rooms are nice, cozy and clean. Kudos to the housekeeping staff. The food at the restaurant is good. We had dinner once at the restaurant. Although the same can’t be said about the breakfast, the fair was limited and nothing much to write home about.

No dedicated parking space, you have to park on the street (though most of the hotels in White Town have this issue)

The location is the best thing of this Hotel. - White Town with less than 5 min walking to Beach, Notre Dame des Anges Church and popular Art Cafe's in Suffren St.
I had booked a room with Balcony, which was well kept and a great spot for talking great photos and spending sometime with loved ones.
The room is centrally airconditioned. WiFi connectivity is also good. Also Vodafone and Airtel network connections are not that great.
There is no geyser and the hot water tap was not running hot water either.
The bed was too soft for my comfort. Taking a twist from one side to the other was a trouble in itself.
We tried the restaurant in the hotel which serves good quality n quantity food but waiting for service in the afternoon is more than 10 mins. Also they serve beer and liquor but a very high price starting from 200 Rs. for 500ml where as in Pondicherry a 1 liter beer bottle is available for just 100 Rs.
Also, the spread for morning breakfast is not up to standard, like sautéed vegetables and sausages could had been better in taste.

+1
We recently stayed there for 5 days. The location is excellent, in white town, just a couple of minutes away from the promenade beach. It's a boutique, heritage villa, not too big but comfortable. The check in was smooth, the house keeping was ok. We had a balcony room which overlooked the street, so no great view or privacy. Also mind you that the balcony is a shared one, and very long narrow one so it's not ideal for sitting out. The room size is ok, not too big. Infact the rooms without the balcony are very small. The room had air con, tv, basic toiletries, water bottle, tea coffee sachet and a kettle. The breakfast was served on the roof top restaurant. It was continental and pretty basic. Eggs, bread, cornflakes, milk, juice, fruits, pancakes, sausages, stir fried vegetables, tea coffee. It got monotonous after two days. The location is absolutely fantastic. Walking distance from all the great cafes and promenade beach. All in all its a nice, clean, comfortable place to stay at.

During our visit to Puducherry, we were looking for French food and we came across Le Chateau. Even at 3.30 pm, they served food. It was cooked by French cook and tasted so authentic. The price is reasonable.
The ambience was nice. Overall it gave experience of eating in Europe.
If you are visiting Puducherry, don't miss out on this restaurant.

We stayed here for 3 nights on our tour through Tamil Nadu. It is a clean hotel with good bathroom. Because the property is in the middle of town the rooms have no views but they are clean and a reasonable size.
The front desk is very good - organising trips and giving advice about the places to see.
The breakfasts were good - buffet style plus they would get other things for you. We eat there one night and the food was good although there several top class restaurants in Pondicherry.
It’s main asset is position - it is right in the middle of white town.

Located at White Town, the lovely French Quarter of Pondicherry, the hotel is just 3 minutes walk from the beach promenade and Rock Beach. And within easy walking distance from everywhere in White Town. The hotel building looks nice. It doesn't have a car parking facility of its own but that's not really a problem as there is enough roadside parking available in the neighborhood. The room was adequate in size and clean and equipped with a flat screen TV, an electronic safe and an electric kettle. The cupboard was a little small and surprisingly there was no fridge. The bathroom was clean, well equipped and there was good water pressure in the shower. We did however felt the need for a few hooks on the door for hanging stuff! Room service was satisfactory. The hotel reception was efficient and helpful. The continental buffet breakfast provided in the top floor restaurant was nice. A few South Indian items were on the menue as well. The restaurant & bar was spacious, comfortable and had a good view and ambience. Service was good.

Great location near the promenade. An attractive building with an artificial grass rooftop area where you can have dinner. There don’t appear to be any other places to sit and read apart from the small reception area. My room was clean and the bed very comfortable. I didn’t use room service but the dinner I had was good. Breakfast was nothing to write home about - the buffet was not available, apparently because there were not enough guests in the hotel, but they did cook eggs and the croissants were nice. A good place to stay if you can negotiate a reasonable price.

4 stars for the chef, 2.5 for the place. We had gone here for 31st dinner, i suffer from gluten allergy, chef Karna was helpful in guiding and preparing food for me. Although it was really difficult to catch hold of the staff, had to personally go and ask for update on our order. The food was tasty though, we had risotto and bbq cottage cheese with herb rice.

Only went to have dinner here. The experience was terrible. The food took ages to arrive. The staff were clueless, the bartender didn't know how to make basic cocktails. Left without receiving half the food we had ordered. I used to love this place but it's really fallen badly.

The hotel has no parking facility. But you can park on the side roads. It should be safe. We had no problems.
It's not a shady hotel, so showing valid I.D proof should allow you to stay there without any issues. Hope this helped? :)
I'm sorry but I didn't notice any ....there seemed to be spots on the street but of course we happened to be there during an extended monsoon season so things were pretty quiet.
