On a distinctive Tamil street of Pondicherry with red-tiled verandahs and seating platforms, lies La Maison Tamoule. This street was restored under the Asia Urbs Programme. Polished red-tile Attangadi floors surround a pillared courtyard over two floors. The verandahs lead to the rooms with Burmese teak doors and furniture. Light filters through a translucent roof above and the windows in the rooms tint the sunlight with their stained glass panes. This Baroque, Franco-Tamil architecture represents the same fusion as the colonial furniture and Creole food of Pondicherry.

The place has been managed well and is a paradise for people who love good and nice hotel in this french city of Pondy. The staff was courteous and well behaved always and the overall stay was good. The furniture and the overall decor was so beautiful that it helped the stay turning out to be good.

This place is now called 'Dune Maison Calve' and I suppose it is under a new management. The mansion is really charming but the service and management of the place, even the decoration, would really need to be improved. I hope they're adjusting

We stayed at La Maison Tamoule over a weekend, and were amazed by the well-maintained hotel and the courteous staff. The staff gladly showed a few rooms before we picked one that was comfortable for my mother-in-law. Some rooms have the sleeping area at a higher level than the rest, which may not be comfortable for older folks. I absolutely loved the antique furniture and the retro vibe - everything was authentic and well kept. The food was good too and the chef was happy to prepare a dish taking some dietary restrictions into consideration.

La Maison Tamoule will be remembered for a long time to come because we reserved the entire property to hold the first wedding in our family here. This house is authentic chettinadu in all ways. From day one of enquiry to the day we wrapped up the wedding and left, our experience with this place had been very professional. Mr.Ranjith the property manager made sure no detail was spared and was very helpful through out the wedding process. We felt very much at home. This house played a very important role in make the wedding the most beautiful experience ever. The rooms are fine, some are small, could do with some better bedding/covers maybe. Food was good, especially the wedding lunch. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Stayed here on business in Jan this year. This is one of those typical touristy hotels which talk about history and boutique experience with restored mansions from a hundred years ago. The room size was large but everything else was poor. The bed is uncomfortable and difficult to sleep on. The bathroom is small and not well thought of - if you shower the whole bathroom gets wet. The service standards are below average and breakfast takes 1 hour. The lunch/dinner is a a set meal which changes everyday and is largely European non vegetarian food so dint really eat here. These folks dont understand coffee. I wont go back and certainly wont advise anyone else to do so either.

We have visited Neemrana's La Maison Tamoule many times in the last four years and have taken people there also and we have all enjoyed food. There is usually only one other table occupied when we go and we don't know why as the food is so good. They have tandoor as well as an extensive menu and the Tamil house is just beautiful. There is a wonderful art gallery opposite as well

Located on a heritage street. A heritage hotel. Beautiful. Every tile, every stair crafted with detail. Each room different, quaint names, quaint decor yet comfortable. Wooden stairs, unique architecture - what is not to like about it? Loved this place every moment we were here...

Tastefully restored heritage hotel with teak wood pillars, athangudi tiles and stained glass windows. We recently got married here at their beautiful courtyard in the middle of the house. This is an amazing place for small private weddings. The place can easily hold upto 150 people. The staff was very friendly and professional. We came from Chennai with not many contacts in Pondicherry. The staff made the whole experience very seamless and smooth for us. Thank you La Maison Tamoule for making our wedding special! :)

When its a Neemrana property, you expect it to be good but this one was a big disappointment. The food was not good and the ambiance was shoddy. The place needs high renovation. The service was the only saving grace.

A great property in an old home. well located. comfortable rooms and friendly staff BUT a lack of attention to detail. Dusty furnture, untrained staff, Retaurant not cleaned crumbs on the table and on the floor. The bathrooms are also quite dirty if one looks closely. I think management needs to be improved .
