Heritage Villa Selvom - restored as Hotel du Parc with close proximity to the beach and the Auroindo ashram, was built in the early 17th century and was a part of Villa Aurome. It has served in the past as the residence of many French Governors including Dupleix. The Villa has been remodeled as a reflection of the colonial times. Nestled ingeniously between the mango and coconut trees, the hotel offers two exquisite multi-cuisine restaurants.

The location is unbelievably advantageous, given that driving around in Puducherry is a headache. Most amenities are in proximal walking distances. Most of the hotel staff are welcoming. I'm very unhappy with their miserly breakfast service. The complimentary breakfast buffet is a scam as there isn't a buffet at all. Rooms are comfortable but not maintained well. Requesting toiletries and ordering in food from outside are frowned upon.

A no frills hotel with friendly people. A small hotel with about 9-10 rooms. Location : Very centrally located. Few minute walk from major attractions like beach, Aurobindo Ashram , Shopping area, Museum. Lobby : Lobby is more of a courtyard surrounded by rooms on all sides. It has a big mango tree right in middle giving a peaceful and soothing ambience. You can as well have your cup of coffee on the benches. There is even a deck attached to restaurant , where you can have breakfast . Property : Old colonial house converted into a hotel. Effort to keep its original character is having giving a quaint experience. The property does need a bit of upkeep , looks like it was painted few seasons back , and plumbing needs an upgrade. Staff : Pleasant experience. This is where small properties win with personalised attention. Restaurant : Had only Breakfast. Basic no frills food ,but fresh and tasty. Specially Dosas. Rooms : Large rooms , The one I had was split level, with bed on the loft. Liked the ambience. Generally clean and well furnished. Wished they had a coffee kettle as well. TV: Yes. Had all the normally expected channels. Wifi : Available Furniture in the Room : Good functional furniture. With some period furniture , keeping up with the theme of heritage property. Toiletries : Rudimentary , soap and a sachet of shampoo. Summary: Overall satisfied and was as expected. A recommendable place to stay if you are looking for a heritage touch , comfortable, easy on pocket stay and friendly people for your next weekend trip to Pondy.

Hotel is located at the French colony and close to all the places. It is just 300 mtrs from the rock beach. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Food They serve both French and the Indian food and the cost is also affordable. Staff were very supportive & courteous. The French style doors and windows, high ceiling and antique furniture was good added to the charm. Really enjoyed my stay over here.

I visited the Union Territory Of Pondicherry in the December of 2019. My friend chose the hotel for us and I must say, this is one of the few choices she has made that I approve. The heritage vibe of the hotel and the low lying bed in the room made it difficult for me to wake up and go sightseeing. This is the place you should go to when in Pondicherry. Special mention for Mr. Venkat who was an absolutely delightful host!

Very nice property in heart of White town. Waking distance from the beach. 9 rooms which are great, all AC & majority on ground floor. Neat & clean property. Excellent service, courteous staff specially Ravi & Venkat. Right next to Governor house. Eating options just outside & and at walking distance. Breakfast options limited & is a slight let down. Suruguru, Adyar, Le Cafe, etc are near by.
