What a lovely stay in the heart of white town , with all cafes and beach hardly 5 minutes away. This place seems like a collectors den filled with unique artefacts. The room on ground floor was quite spacious & cozy. For breakfast , they give nice croissant & tea with a beautiful view ! They also gave me a map & recommended best food places to try around. Very comfortable stay .
The rooms are large and beautifully furnished with taste and thoughtful colour schemes. We had a hot water tank which had to be switched on prior to taking a shower, but it did not take too long to heat up. The location of the hotel was good, not too far from the sea or the Ashram. Olivier provided us with a map of Pondicherry and made some good recommendations with regard to restaurants and bars. The WiFi was a bit iffy, possibly because we were near the top of the house, but otherwise could not fault it. Excellent value.
This Guest House is an amazing place. It is located in a quiet headquarter in Pondicherry, just behind Aurobindo's Samadhi. Patricia and his son Olivier are very kind people who own a beautiful house to rent to travellers of the world.
Paticia Guest House : its a pleasant and beautiful place to stay. We stayed in "Romantique Suite". Our room was quite big with "Oonjal" nothing but a swing with wooden plank. My son enjoyed a lot. The house is decorated with plenty of antique collections, beautiful fabrics, plants, creepers and paintings, which makes you feel as u also got an oppurtunity to see the equipements used in the olden days like a museum.Patricia mam and Simon were very humble and helpful in guiding us. No doubt its located in the heart of French Colony and that made our commute easy to all the places by walk. Near by places: mission road, nehru street, all food jucntions, HD factory outlet, beach and obviously for lovely memories, selfies near all the buildings and roads in that street :-) In all and complete : We enjoyed our stay to the core. Thank you so much Simon and Patricia Mam for our memorable stay.…
Patricia's guest house is a very pleasand place to stay. The design of the rooms is awesome and very comfortable. While it is not the cheapest place in town, it is definitely worth the money and I truely recommend it.
Patricia’s home is as beautiful as her- inside out. It is well placed within the French quarters parallel to the promenade and serves as a landmark by itself. The house decor is eclectic. The rooms are small, warm and clean.
We had a great stay at Patricia's guesthouse. The house it beautiful, in the heard of the French colonial district of Pondicherry. The room was very nicely decorated, comfortable and clean. Patricia and her son Olivier were very nice and helpful. Olivier had great recommendations and was very interesting to talk to, Patricia arranged transportation for us. It was a very homey feeling, while having some privacy. Internet connectivity was very good compared to other places in Pondicherry. Breakfast was simple and you have to order it the day before. We had the corner room at the first floor (the Veranda I think). It is very spacious but also fairly noisy, although traffic is limited in these streets. It's incredible how loud a couple of rickshaws can really be. It can be annoying in the morning if you want to sleep in but after 8pm, it becomes very quiet. We'll definitely be back! …
We were at Patricia's the last weekend and it was a lovely place to stay. The guest house is beautifully done and the rooms (especially on the first floor) are a treat to stay in. The house is full of an eclectic mix of curios, potted plants and paintings. Location is excellent, right in the heart of the French city and a very short walk from the Promenade. Booking was easy and Olivier and Patricia were very responsive to all queries. One suggestion for the hosts would be to equip the rooms with an electric kettle and some tea/ coffee sachets. Would help in the mornings :) !
Lovely colonial house in French part of Pondicherry now being used as home stay. Set in calm and lovely location just approx 300 metres from beach. The home is managed by graceful mother and caring and energetic son. The façade, interior and rooms are decorated artistically and thoughtfully keeping bygone time intact. The décor, furniture, rooms, lighting are made such that it takes you back in time. But the toilets are modern. The rooms are air-conditioned. There is total privacy for guests. But if you are willing to mingle with owners, then you will be most welcome. The food can be booked in advance and is home cooked both veg and non veg. Check prior about your budget limits. Also check the availability for your plan and dates. Conclusion : The price you pay is well worth it.…
I haven't met meaner hosts before. From the day we arrived the hosts were so mistrustful. They tried to squeeze every penny out of us. They were so miserly about everything: they charged 200 for a breakfast of a cold bagel, a hard baguette, and coffee that needed to be warmed again . The last thing we wanted was to be doubted by our hosts whether we paid or not. We had paid her son the night before and had the receipt with me, even then she called up her son just to check whether we had paid or not. I have never been humiliated so much. There were many more incidents, but I think this should be enough for people to know what kind of people run this place.
