If you're looking for a place... .....where the guest is not a guest but a distraction .....a place which was redone quickly to pretend to be one of those nice old Tamil houses, but the color will not stick on the old color, which was not removed... if you're looking for a place, where when the toilet brakes (because of...

This hotel is a pure oasis in the middle of a frenzied city. Think clean rooms, ultra-high ceilings, polished cement floors, tasteful shabby-chic furnishings and a beautiful courtyard. The service was prompt, friendly and understated. Breakfast was French / western. The rooms and bathrooms were huge. Everything was within walking distance, which was crucial as we visited during Pongal! Think...

We stayed 4 nights and we were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this old Colonial Hotel. Beautifully decorated rooms, gorgeous antiques and soft furnishings and the most wonderful courtyard garden. There simply isn't any other hotel in Pondicherry as good as this, we have peeked at all of them. The character hasn't been ripped out to cram in...

First let me say what this place isn't: it isn't a 5 star hotel with swimming pool; televisions or ducted air-con. Rather its a 200 year old building with a history, which includes as a hospital and a library, which has been renovated in an appropriate fashion and which features an internal garden courtyard and passageways. The old building has...

A four course on the house breakfast, spacious rooms( just seven in all), high ceilings, antique classy furniture, retro framed photos adorning each room; creates a cozy ambience; absence of TV adds to chic; located at the heart of the French quarter (White Town) ; marina sea front is a short walk as are all the key monuments and sights;...

As soon as I arrived at Villa Helena I loved the design and atmosphere of the place, and then I realised that owners (Benjamin and Caroline), staff and food were to be loved too! I was coming from 10 days of intense travelling and I found an oasis of peace and beauty at Villa Helena. To the point that I...

My daily challenge is to find a place to eat where I feel it is nutritious and safe. I was walking and passed this place. I perused the menu written outside and I thought it was pretty good. I sat down and was given the menu by the serious looking server who did not say a word or did not...

Its a nice property with lots of open place to hang around. The Veranda were huge and nice chairs to lounge around. Rooms are huge but rustic. Large room beds were huge and very comfy. Don't think of 5 star like bathroom here. Water was slow and no air condition in the bathroom. Carry your own shower gel and soaps....

Dear Guest, Thank you for reviewing our property on TripAdvisor. Our Heritage House is over a 100 years old and it is true that plumbing can not compete with a 5 star hotel. As for the soap and shower gel, I am surprised by your comment as both are provided in all our rooms in antique cristal jars inside the...

We stayed at ‘Villa Helena’ by chance and what a pleasant turn of events it proved to be. Initially I had booked, through an OTA, to stay at another lovely property in Pondicherry. After travelling on the overnight bus from Kerala, we arrived only to be informed by the very gracious owner of the property that unfortunately they had double...

Stayed at Villa Helena for the weekend. Glad we chose to stay here. The place is very well decorated with foliage. The ambiance is just beautiful. The common area looks even more gorgeous at night. Room was pleasant, spacious and clean. Bathroom was not spacious but it was efficient and clean. It had all the essentials. It would help if...
