Room, food and cleaning was good but their customers service are poor and pathetic regularly I used to stay in other hotel but this time I tried this hotel I already informed them to give me a wake up call at 3 am and arrange auto, they said ok but they forgot at morning when I tell them at morning pls arrange auto because I am a single lady and can't take all bags with my own and one of the so called kaka said there is no auto outside very disappointed even I ask for luggage down they ask me money for luggage.Avoid this hotel, there are lots of hotel just beside this hotel.
Apart from the fantastic location the staff behavior and service is extremely good. Room is good for a night's stay. Check-in checkout was easy, food can be ordered and delivered to the room. There is a beautiful Ganesh temple beside the reception. If anyone needs to stay overnight near NJP, Tirupati Lodge is the best option. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.
Checkin: 28/Dec/21 Checkout: 29/Dec/21 The hotel was selected based on the tripadvisor reviews as its proximity to NJP railway station was good reason for us as had a 6am morning train to catch. No-fancy hotel, teh staff is efficient at the reception and will help you with prompt checkin. Checkin time is 12 noon. the rooms are small with very basic amneties. Cleanliness is just acceptable. Vegetarian thali is available and tastes okay. Food options outside teh Railway staion which is a 2 to 5 min walk from hotel can also be explored. If one have spare time then they can go to the station side and ride a share electric rickshow at INR 20/- per head to the town and visit Shri Ram Thakur Ashram or Kali Bari or local market. Overall a perfect business hotel.
After a 12 hour pleasant daytime journey on Indian Railways, I walked to this lodge from the incredibly busy and huge NJP railway station, taking about five minutes. Check in was slow. The three storey lodge has a recently installed antique lift that worked well. My room 2A initially suffered from rather unattractive music at a nearby wedding but this ceased by 2045 hours. The premier deluxe room had a King bed but there was only a doona not a top sheet. The pillows were rubber but despite this I slept well. The room had two armchairs and a table plus good parquetry, interesting curtains that blocked out light, a quiet and effective split system aircon unit and a smallish Hightron television that offered only Indian cable channels. No drinking water was provided. Nor was there a room safe, but a soap bar accompanied the sole white towel. There was an ante room with a table that doubled as a luggage shelf. Lighting was excellent and the room was nicely decorated with glass enclosed local photos, though strangely not of the world famous Darjeeling narrow gauge steam train and railway. The shower controls were difficult to balance with cold water one minute and scalding hot the next, a problem in other Indian hotels. The bathroom was generously sized and it was easy to shave. There was no hairdryer. The rudimentary plastic chairs and tables restaurant was booked out for a young trekkers group but I had room service of chicken fried rice that was fine. WiFi worked very well on the ground floor but was sporadic on the second despite a different login. There was a phone in the room. In common with other Indian hotels, a large jail cell-like key, lock and bolt was the entry method to the room. Complex! One staff member had flawless English. The others had little. I do not understand the negative reviews as this place 570km from Calcutta by rail was very good.…
We checked into this hotel on 25 August, 2019 for couple of hours for resting as we were coming back to Kolkata by Darjeeling mail on the same day at 8 PM. Charges are reasonable, rooms is ok. They have a lovely Ganesha temple inside the property. Food and drinks are not up to mark. They can give you tea and coffee from their vending machine only. So, you cant get sugar free tea and coffee. We placed order for dinner for five persons to be packed so we can carry in the train. We explained to the waiter that we want dry chicken Kasa with no gravy at all along with chapati, some mix veggie, dal and hakka Noodles. Food was delivered on time. While eating the dinner, we found they gave us chicken curry in very light gravy. Food was not tasty at all. This lodge is a good option to rest while on the way to and from hills at a reasonable cost. Management should look into their F and B and try and improve to attract more guests in future.…
worst hotel in terms of management. customers should be aware of not consuming food in its dinning restaurant. They serve poor quality unhygienic food. The management is least bothered for this issue. costly hotel.
Like most of the lodges near the Njp station this lodge is the better one to stay with tour family. At least they provide you a clean room. Food service is poor. Ambiance is so so. But it's far better then the other lodges who are only interested in your money. And provide even a serve the room to spend the night. The management is cooparative. Ok for spending the night. Thanking you, Nilanjan Maitra
Optimum support. Rooms are clean. Bathrooms are average. Location is excellent. Fairly cooperative staff. OYO rooms are small but average. Overall experience was optimum. Refer to this hotel if you need to catch a train overnight from NJP.
I booked room in this hotel through makemytrip @ rs 2300, room no 209 was terrible, less than 100 sqft, no wordrobe, toilet was very tiny and dirty, I recommend not to stay here. if you really require to stay near njp station and don't get other option, stay here @ not more than rs 1200.
as we reached NJP at dead of night( around midnight) and had to proceed to darjeeling at 8 am, we were short of option and strayed into this hotel. it is situated at a walkable distance from NJP station gate. we got a triple bedded room for 1200 after bargaining a little ( bargaining power was with the owner). the room size was decent , toilet was well cleaned and geyser was in working condition. if you want to spend a night here, it is just fine. at 1200 rupee it is certainly worth it.
