So pleased we were told about this place, we never would have known it was tucked away in the gorge. The setting is gorgeous, we now want to build our own barn! Food was absolutely amazing. The chocolate dessert I had would have been the best I have ever eaten! Highly recommend. Would be fantastic for an event - wedding,...

We stayed in rose cottage for 1 night. Although the cabin was a little lacking in facilities (the bathroom and shower felt a little caravan park like), the staff and bush setting more than made up for it. Great breakfast basket included made this stay excellent value for money and a memorable experience

Enjoyed our lunch there on Sunday. Was shocked to see the amount of cars there but we didnt feel over crowded. Lovely fire inside with activities outside for children. Meal was a unique pumpkin soup and seafood pizza. Served in no time at all by friendly efficient staff.

A great dining experience at the Falls Retreat Bistro in a stunning location just off the Hauraki Rail Trail in the Karangahake Gorge. Nice atmosphere, roaring fire and tasty food choices. Yum. We enjoyed the company of our friends from Te Aroha, a great way to catch up with friends. Will be back next time we cycle the rail trail...

We were met by Brad who showed us to the cottage. Nothing was too much trouble. So friendly. The cottage has all you need and is quirky, not a clinical and perfectly matched interior. We loved it. The setting was pretty and so peaceful. We ate at the Bistro and were not surprised at the wonderful reviews it has attracted....

Great daily specials add to lovely range of choices on menu, along with quality wines. Was beautiful day so sitting outside amongst bush was lovely - might...

The cottage was excellent, plenty of space and a lovely breakfast basket. We walked from the cottage without taking the car and had a great walk to the old mining tunnels. Don't forget to wear proper shoes and take a torch! The Bistro was a bonus and we had an excellent meal without having to travel with the added attraction...
