Kokonga Lodge was a great place to spend the night while on the Central Otago Rail Trail. Our hosts, Dorothy and Malcolm were extremely friendly and gracious. The evening meal was delicious and the rooms very comfortable. There was a guest lounge that overlooked the beautiful gardens with views to the mountains in the distance. If you don't visit Kokonga...

Dorothy and Malcom are superb hosts to our group of 6. We stayed a night with them on the Rail Trail, and found them very friendly and obliging. The lodge is very comfortable and spacious. Our evening meal was excellent, and then a hearty breakfast before getting us underway again. Highly recommended. Thank you

The property has lovely gardens, and two interesting historical buildings on site. These consist of an old schoolhouse and the masters home, which is now a private residence. We understand the property is to shortly change hands. This was the last stop on our ride.

We we're escorted out the back door where we took our shoes off still clutching...

From the first warm welcome, we felt at home at Kokanga Lodge. The rooms are spotlessly clean, beds comfy and everything modern and well presented. An urn of hot water and an array of teas, coffee and home made cookies were available in the hall way by the door. Downstairs were comfy chairs, papers and books to read, or a...

Staying at Kokonga Lodge was a real highlight for my husband and myself. Malcolm & Dorothy were very welcoming and made us feel very much at home. My husband loves cooking so was in his element talking to Dorothy who has an equal passion & they were soon swapping recipes. Our dinner of salmon that night was superb and proved...

When we booked our Rail Trail adventure with Shebikeshebikes we nominated a mix of good to luxury places to stay. We are very pleased that we selected Kokonga Lodge as an option. We had biked from Ranfurly to Hyde that day. We arrived at Hyde a little earlier than anticipated. Malcolm had no hesitation in picking us and another couple...
