The masseria has been converted to domestic and holiday accommodation respecting the traditional building materials and using good quality stone and furnishings. Our room was cool and spacious, and we slept well after heavy days' exercise and copious food in the evening. The outdoor areas of the masseria had deckchairs for relaxing with a book in peaceful surroundings. Food excellent:...

Luciana and Danilo were wonderful hosts, very, very, kind and welcoming to us, we were a group of 12 and I think all felt the same as I do. The food was wonderful as was the wine, all the jams, marmalade and bread were home made by Luciana. Staying at the Masseria was a very peaceful and wonderful experience for...

The masseria itself has been beautifully restored and sits in lovely grounds, within easy striking distance of the coast on both sides. The owners, Luciana and Danilo, could not have been more welcoming and helpful as our pilates group stayed there for a week. We enjoyed wonderful breakfasts and evening meals from produce grown on the masseria and were reluctant...

My boyfriend and I stayed one week at the Masseria with our pilates group from Macclesfield. Luciana and Danillo were very welcoming and friendly. They were always very helpful. We had breakfast and dinner included in our stay. The food so absolutely beautiful. Lots of vegetables and fresh fruit, homemade cakes for breakfast, local yoghurt and beautiful bread. Our room...

When our dear friends from Buenos Aires asked us to choose three locations in Italy for our joint vacation in July, the Masseria Santa Lucia was one of them. The architecture is magnificent and beautifully restored. Luciana and Danilo (the owners) were very kind and welcoming. The location is very conveniently close to two different and both wonderful coast (Adriatic...

I stayed here with a group of friends for three nights and had a fabulous experience. Danilo and Lucia are wonderful hosts. Great pride is taken in the meals served. Breakfast was a delight, with homemade cakes and jams, fresh fruit, and wonderful coffee. Our group dined at the masseria alfresco one evening and were treated to fabulous dishes of...

Perfectly positioned between two stunning coastlines, Masseria Santa Lucia offers a beautifully run, super friendly stay. Delicious home made breakfast, cakes and jams; all organic produce comes from Luciana and Danilo's farm. Wonderful hospitality, no better place to stay in the area. P.S. Luciana's marmalade is amazing!!!

My husband, 22 year old son, and I stayed here for three nights. It is a beautifully appointed newly restored masseria in a lovely setting. Our room was at the end of the row of rows and so was very private. The owner is a great hostess who runs the place very efficiently and with attention to her guests and...

We stayed as two couples for three nights. Luciana and Danilo are super-friendly, helpful, and passionate about their farm and food. We really felt at home here. I would recommend dining at the masseria as well; the food in Puglia is excellent everywhere but you can just tell that Danilo and his chefs have created your food with LOVE! :)...

Fabulous hospitality and excellent cooking for reasonable prices. Don't search further and don't go eating elsewhere. Luciana and Danilo are unique! Very quiet location and comfortable rooms. When we are again in the region be sure we'll come back.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Masseria Santa Lucia is an ancient farm, a part of which dates back to the 15th century when the rooms were used as stables, farm storage space and for tobacco processing. A skilful restoration supervised by the owners, Luciana and Danilo, has converted this suggestive building steeped in tradition into guest accommodation. In addition, the six hectares of adjacent farmland have been turned into a park and organic farm. In the farmhouse's kitchen vegetables, cereals, olive oil and fruit, are transformed into culinary delights for guests. The farm is located at the furthest edge of the Salento peninsula, a few kilometres from a marvellous seacoast and the panoramic Capo di Leuca, in an area covered with centuries-old olive groves, ancient dry stone walls and characteristic rural buildings. The walled-fortified farmhouse is formed by a spacious open court where in good season it is possible to have dinner and breakfast, by a tall tower in which the owners' home is located with a small reception office, by two small rooms used as breakfast and dinner rooms and by a large reading room with tall star vaults (typical in this region). Two double rooms (All with private bathroom and air-conditioning system) are close to the court and have a fresh green lawn in front, while other four double rooms and the suite double room are located in the back of the court facing a smelly herbs garden. The rooms are covered by a pergola and have an external relax area with deckchairs and little tables. ... more   less
