Despite some negative reviews of the hotel service, we decided to give it a try and we were impressed with the entire experience. Since we went during G20 summit weekend, the hotel staff recommended us to take speed train from Shanghai to avoid traffic delay on the road, and they arranged complimentary shuttle to pick up us from train station...

I'll start with the good ... The property is absolutely beautiful. You couldn't find a more stunning location in the mountains. Also conveniently located at the base of Moganshan mountain so its easily accessible by a 1.5 hour hike through the bamboo forest & tea plantations. The hotel is also very nice -- room/bathroom was massive, very well decorated throughout...

First the good news....the spot is vey tranquil and you feel very far removed from the sprawl of Shanghai/Hangzhou. The rooms were very nice. The actual hotel was charming, feels like an old plantation. Nice large living room area had many nice comfortable couches, great place to relax and read a book. Food was very expensive and you are completely...

I spent one weekend at Le Passage with my boyfriend because I really wanted to offer him something unique & exclusive, and instead I feel terribly frustrated and ripped off. I was dreaming of this place since a while actually but I will keep a bitter taste of it, unfortunately. First of all, I had to complain about the noise...

it was a wonderful stay in the middle of a beautiful countryside with tea fields all around. The decoration of the hotel is very refined and delicate.I felt very much at home. I particularly liked the mix of european recipes with fresh local ingredients. It's an ideal retreat for a weekend or more away from the city.

This is now one of my favorite places to visit in China. Le Passage was the perfect hotel and I could not have asked for a better experience. Gorgeous setting, delicious food, fantastic staff! We did dinner in the Pavilion and it was worth the extra money!! Private server, wonderful 5 course meal! The wine cellar was also amazing! The...

Unique : French "art de vivre" in a beautiful setting 2,5 hours from busy Shanghai. In the middle of a tea plantation, hosts Christophe and Pauline offered us a memorable stay : perfect bedding, spacious rooms, swimming/biking/hiking/dining/drinking good wine and exquisite food prepared by talented Japanese chef. All members of our family of 5 loved it! For sure we'll come...

Our main objective in creating Le Passage Mohkan Shan was to share with Western and Chinese guests this very unique French “art de vivre” in China. It is always very rewarding when guests like you understand and appreciate what we tried to accomplish in this idyllic tea plantation. Chef Toyo is always surprising us with in season and farm to...

Came here on a weekend with family with 3 young kids in early spring. Took about 3.5 hours to drive from Shanghai. Hotel and grounds were beautiful. It was even warm enough to swim in the pool for a bit. The rooms were really nice, with a bit of a rustic feel. The bathroom was huge, with a nice old...

I only stayed here for one night but it was very comfortable and the morning views are amazing. The restaurant stayed open quite late for our party and I was very delighted with the food. The shrimp flan was absolutely amazing. The room was large, modern, and very comfortable. The only downside was the lack of English on the tele,...

Morning views of the tea plantation are truly amazing!! Toyo our star chef makes the most delicious blend of French cuisine with a Japanese twist. The shrimp flan is a French version of a “Chawanmushi”, an egg custard dish found in Japan. It is very popular with our guests. Make sure to let us know next time you visit, Toyo...
