For a late booking (4pm on the day!) at a hotel I hadn't stayed at previously, this could not have been better.. The dinner menu was excellent - I chose roast cod with beef cheek with sundried tomatoes and artichokes. Great choice for breakfast. Plus, I loved the décor, furnishings and spaciousness of my twin bedroom, which overlooked the car...

We dropped our son of for his Duke of Ed camping weekend and stopped here on the way home, I ordered the Fishcake starter and it was delicious, I loved the fresh pea puree and homemade tartar sauce, had that with two large glasses of Australian Pinos which were really nice and reasonably priced, £5 something for a large glass...

Maybe it was because it was a bank holiday weekend and they simply could not cope with the large number of diners but we were most disappointed. We were only able to secure a booking after 3pm which was not a problem but we all went for the roast - yes the Yorkshire pudding is huge and looks extremely impressive...

We had soup and sandwiches, which were delicious. We were so impressed with the professional service that we asked for the names of our servers in order to congratulate them, well done Alex and Tom. We will definitely return.

Managed to get us in last minute for food in the bar area (had a dog), great! We were shown to our table and then sat there for another 10 mins waiting for someone to take our order. Had to ask for veggie menu.. only two main courses, no starters. Had to wait 10 mins for a drink, 20 mins...

Stayed here for a night over bank holiday weekend whilst at a wedding. The B and B itself is in a gorgeous rural setting with a lovely Italian across the road which we ate out in. The B and B itself was very clean and the staff all very welcoming. The room was lovely and warm, clean and very comfy....

visited this restaurant last month with a friend and found the interior of The Devonshire Arms attractive and the food was delicious. We considered it to be an experience of fine dining. The location is popular of course.

We arrived at 2030 on a Sunday night without a reservation and managed to get a table - the waitress said it had been busy all day so pleased to have a table. The pub itself had a good atmosphere and decorated in a traditional style. The menu was rather limited for a Sunday meal but we found enough to...

Took my grandchildren for Sunday lunch but were full so said we could go on cakes and sandwhiches part. We did now wish we hadnt bothered. Between 7 & 8 pounds for lamb, pork or beef on a crusty roll with 3 roast potatoes. Only pork was edible. Lamb and beef could not be cut let alone chewed. Waitress looked...

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. The pub was fairly busy, with a few diners in. The signs looked good. We were seated promptly. After looking at the menu, and deciding that we'd all try the Sunday roast, consisting of pork loins, Yorkshire pudding and vegetables, the waiter took our order. He was very polite and friendly. Our drinks were served...
