We visited with my sister-in-law who had chosen this hotel wanting to visit nearby Chatsworth. From when we had booked earlier in the year and right throughout our stay the staff could not have done anymore to help us. Nothing was too much trouble. Our rooms were even better than we expected, beautifully decorated and with excellent lighting. The bathrooms...

Lovers of fine wining and dining will already be aware that Fischers is the stand out country house hotel in Derbyshire. Spending two nights there I wholeheartedly agree. The Michelin starred cuisine is an obvious highlight - our package gave us a complimentary upgrade on one of the nights to the "Taste of Britain" tasting menu that showcases the excellence...

Exceptional Kitchen Table Experience. We had the most superb dinner here last week, the tasting menu with wine pairing and it did not disappoint. I would even say it was possibly one of the best meals I have ever been lucky enough to taste. I would put Fischer’s right up there with any of the top London Michelin restaurants I...

Me and my girlfriend aren't regular fine diners, although we try and visit a Michelin star restaurant for each other's birthday. When booking the restaurant initially the lady was lovely with me and very welcoming and the staff were very welcoming upon our arrival. The food was great and as you would expect from such a quality restaurant and my...

We stayed at Baslow with our 2 children aged a year and 7 years old. We had got married here 11 years ago! Room: spacious Haddon room overlooking front gardens. Comfortable Sleigh style bed. Shower over bath. Free chocolates. Dinner: Excellent. The tasting menu is a must have dining choice. All courses unique, exciting flavours with some hints of fusion...

Luckily we picked a beautiful day to stay here and from arrival we were made extremely welcome. Staff are super friendly and professional, room was gorgeous and food was exquisite. We stayed on a special package which included room, evening meal and breakfast and it was excellent value for money and I think this may be a regular occurrence as...

We spent only one night here & we were charmed by the hotel's quaint ambience, stunning decor (Jacobean-style Arts & Crafts), wonderful staff & fabulous food. Our room, Vernon, was large, comfortable & sun-filled, with a distant view of Chatsworth House & its Hunting Tower (although these views will no doubt disappear once the trees are in leaf). Dinner was...

We were a group of 5 couples and us (family of 2 adults and 2 children) for two nights. The food both nights was great - as was the service. Attentive but not too formal. Children didnt eat there bit made to feel welcome). Room (coach house 4) was plenty big enough. . One thing - the children (age 10)...

This elegant building is set in lovely grounds ideally situated for the Peak District and all that it offers. Beautiful old rooms with traditional features tall ceilings and lots of old wood panalling. Our room was small but tastefully decorated. Arrived in the afternoon had tea and coffee. The evening started with a glass of champagne and the most delicious...

We had wanted to try Fischers for a while and booked a party of 6 to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday. We were offered the Study for private dining and I must say that from arrival to our departure the evening and dining experience was absolutely exceptional. The venue was superb and the cuisine truly out of this world. The...
