We were lucky to nab one of the last rooms here! Basic but clean rooms, reasonably priced, large sharing kitchen and lounge with a wonderful view of Mt. Cook! We were thinking of staying outside the village, but we were so glad we were close instead. There is a wifi limit, but the desk told us they would give us...

The reason you're here is the fabulous view of Mount Cook and the surrounding mountains. Keep reminding yourself of that and you'll be fine. The hotel is a letdown, given the spectacular surroundings. The reception area is packed with visitors and noisy like a busy bus interchange. Our room is in the annexe block that we have to drive to....

We had a two room unit plus a separate bathroom. The kitchen/lounge was very spacious with full cooking facilities. A lounge and table and chairs along with TV. Our unit was at the front and the full length windows looked right out onto the mountains. The bedroom was quite large and room to store suit cases. The hotel is a...

The lodge is in the perfect location; in the Upper Village near the DOC office. It is small and cosy which gives the personal touch. Lots of trees and bushes all around adds to this. The common room has a view as good as The Hermitage and has a front deck with a barbecue to sit and dine while enjoying...

For the price, this is great lodging in an area with limited options. But they really need to update their beds and curtail a bit of the "groups" that dominate the common area and make quite a bit of noise late at night and early in the morning. No fridges or much space to relax in the rooms but the...

This place was amazing and the walk was also beautiful. This hotel that's turned into a hostel is awesome, the deals they have are great for if you are travelling with a tour and the staff were super friendly too! 😊

There are very few options in remote Mount Cook and overall we enjoyed the lodge. Laura was very courteous at check in. The views of Mount Cook and glaciers are fantastic from the communal lounge and deck. What a relaxing place to admire the peaks which are right there! The kitchen is well stocked with crockery and 2 gas grills....

Our room was upstairs with a great view of Mt. Cook, tea making facilities, ensuite bathroom and tv. Great communal kitchen and lounge with comfortable seating and outside balcony area taking advantage of panoramic views. Friendly welcoming staff and management. Cannot fault this establishment and highly recommend.

On a clear day (which is the exception not the rule), the views from the hotel can be spectacular. That is the reason to stay here...and to be minutes from some beautiful hiking trails. Another reason to stay is the restaurant (not the buffet, but the slightly more formal restaurant). our meals were excellent...and the service beyond reproach. The rooms...

Just stayed two nights & thought it was very good. We had a small room however, at the time of booking they advised us of the size & it was the last room available. Didn't bother us in the slightest. You do not go to Mt Cook to sit in your room. The lounge upstairs was spotless & really well...
