Lovely home, friendly and knowledgeable hosts, brilliant cooked breakfast. Don't be put off by the short stretch of gravel road because it's only 15 mins through beautiful North Canterbury landscape to a top rate quality accommodation. Looking forward to seeing Karen and Roger (and the dogs) again.

Thank you Tania. It was a real shame that you had an appointment to keep as I felt we had so much in common and could have chatted until Doomsday. I hope you give J.K. Rowling a run for her money and look forward to reading your books.

If you ever get the chance to stay here, do. Having read other people's rave reviews about this B & B we did wonder what it really was like. And it really and truly is wonderful. The trip along the short dusty road is worth every bit of it. We were warmly welcomed, received a room upgrade and after settling...

Three nights over Waitangi weekend exploring Mt Grey and the Tirimoana walk to the beach - thinking we would just have a base but immediately felt like we were catching up with friends. Roger and Karen welcomed us in their home and the length of time we all spent over breakfast with at most 2 other guests shows how difficult...

Thank you for your kind comments. Until your stay with us we had no idea how rich we were in terms of local orchids, you certainly taught us a great deal for which we were truly grateful. We hope to see you again one day.

We had a lovely overnight stay with Karen & Roger, a very welcoming couple. The room we had was lovely, with a nice comfy bed in a very peaceful area just outside Amberley. We feel like we've made new friends here.

We spent 2 days at Awen Lodge and felt like at home. Karen and Roger offer great hospitality beyond the expected. Breakfast was delicious and prepared with passion. Very clean and quiet place with 2 cute dogs. If you need relaxing time after a long flight that s the place to stay. Absolutely recommendable!! We will come again.
