I had never booked this lodge in winter, only clement weather. What a treat. Three nights in a cozy log cabin with fire. Very reasonable price that includes lodging and two meals a day and a gratuity. Isolated. No distractions except nature. No Wifii. Yes.
My fiancé and I wanted to have a little weekend vacay that was fun and affordable and this place was perfect! The cabin was adorable- we loved the placement of the fireplace; the food was delicious...save room for dessert; it is super close to the...More
We have been here a few times. This was the last. Shame on the Sorensens for making this couple do so much that it's impossible to do a good job. The cabin was DIRTY. Food was ok at best. Didn't get toilet paper or soap...More
We spent a weekend in early November. Just what we need to relax and get away. We arrived late and the hosts prepared us dinner to take back to our cottage. Food was home cooked and very good. Entertainment on 2nd night. Hot tub, real...More
I've been to Adventure Lodge twice in the winter, and I can't decide if I'll go again. There are some aspects about this place that are great, and others that don't quite hit the mark.
The pros: this place is pet-friendly, which is amazing. The...More
Hi tripadvisors, this looks like a great place to stay for people like us who want to hike. However, I have a serious allergy to cats and dogs and it sounds like it's a popular place to bring dogs. This, combined with the comments about the rooms not being cleaned much, makes me nervous. The owners say that "no one" lets their dogs on the beds, chairs or couches because "everyone" brings their own dog beds. Is that realistic? It sounds unlikely, but he insisted that because all the couches are new, "no one" would let their dog on it.
Looking for a solid answer to this before we book -- or advice on another place to stay with similar closeness to good hiking. Thanks so much!!!

I am allergic to dogs and cats as well and always worry about this. I take Benadryl along each time just in case, but somehow I've never had to take them while there, my husband is the same. I would be surprised if the pets never get on the furniture as well. Generally when we get there we put the extra blanket from the closet over the loveseat as extra coverage and have been okay! We have also been to the Couples' resort (which would be guaranteed pet free), but we prefer Adventure Lodge by far! You mention your allergy is serious so it is likely more severe than mine, but wanted to share my experience. The floors are all hardwood so that makes a difference too I'm sure. When we are there we're mostly just in the bed and tub anyway and we've been fine :) Wherever you end up, you'll have a great time, it's so beautiful up there! Enjoy!
