I was travelling on my own, seeking peace and quiet. And I certainly found it at Crocnaraw. Along with brilliant breakfasts and a lovely room, Lucy's welcome was wonderful, her attention to detail and thoughtfulness on my behalf tremendous. I must also mention Gary's scones, best I've tasted- and I'm Irish. The immediate setting and wider area are stunning- I'd...

From beginning to end it was a different experience and one that I totally enjoyed. The house is set in beautiful lush grounds near Connemara Carpets in Moyard. I felt as if I had stepped back in time and Lucy couldn't be more helpful. So lovely house, lovely breakfast and lovely host.

Had a great stay. The host, Lucy was wonderful and had a couple of great chats with her. The room itself was comfortable. A little old fashioned, but charming. The only downside for me was the en suite. The bathroom itself was quite dark and the shower was really awful. No pressure, and tepid was as good as I could...

We came here for a corporate weekend, and the hospitality was just fantastic. The house is very quaint with a lot of character. Lucy and her husband took good care of all of us throughout the weekend. If you don't mind a bit of dust, tradition, history then this is the place for you! Thank you both!

On our first trip around Ireland, we hoped to find a traditional and personal atmosphere. Crocnaraw exceeded all our expectations. We experienced a warm hospitality in a calm place that brought us peace of mind. The rooms conveyed the experience of living in a manor. Breakfast was excellent. Moreover, coming home from our trips in wonderful Connemara, having tea and...

I titled this review, "Step back in time...". It might be more appropriate to say, "Step outside of time..." because time, and indeed all outside influences, seem to slip away when I stay at this beautiful country house. Lucy is a most warm and welcoming hostess. Freshly baked scones, homemade jams and tea await you in the sitting room upon...

I stayed here with my friend in July. What a quaint, lovely place! The house and rooms were old-fashioned and charming, including the sitting room, where a welcoming peat fire glowed in the evening and Irish poetry, photography, and travel books were stacked on low tables amid the comfortable furniture. We enjoyed strolling through the gardens and meadows surrounding the...

I can only agree with all the positive comments from previous reviews. We felt welcome and completely at home during our recent stay in this delightful house. There is a genteel charm about Crocnaraw, from the fresh flowers on our dressing table to the home made preserves, bread and scones on the breakfast table. If it's power showers and a...

We loved staying here . Food terrific -- the most amazing home made strawberry jam made with strawberries from the garden with gorgeous scones with the surprise of crystallised ginger in the scones. And we were given scones to take with us on our journey home Bread home made and delicious too as was the wonderful homemade blackcurrant jam Bedroom...

The country house is located in a perfect area to explore Connemara (Clifden, Diamond Hill, Inishbofin). The house is surrounded by beautiful gardens and on a pleasant distance from the road. We liked the old fashioned style of the house very much. The rooms are spacious, impeccable clean and the beds were perfect. We felt warmly welcomed by our host...
