This might have been a good hostel once, but it certainly is not anymore. When I got there, ownership changed 10 days earlier. New owners (couple from Argentina) bought this place through Facebook, never seeing the place in person or ever being to Mazunte before. That says a lot as it seems like their whole moto is; let's make money...

La Isla is a wonderful place to be if you are in Mazunte, which is the most beautiful place I have seen in Mexico! The owners, a lovely argentinian couple, are amazingly warm persons and make you feel like beeing home. They care about all your needs and try to help where they can. You can have wonderful food, hang...

I always know that the reviews on a hostel are artificial when they are all five stars! It's obvious to me that their friends wrote all of their reviews after staying there! For God's sake, they don't even have toilet seats! I had to hold it until I could get to a better place. On another note, Mazunte is probably...

We were directed to La Isla by the owners cousin who we chanced across whilst searching for somewhere to stay. It is a nice place by all means, with food on offer (though overpriced your better off eating in Mazunte or on the beach) and cheap (100 pesos per night). However the staff were clique-y, and unwilling to include everyone...

We stumbled upon La Isla on our first night in Mazunte, and we're so glad we did! The place is full of quirky art and amazing people, the mother and daughter who run it are the warmest and friendliest people, its right by the beach so you can hear the waves at night, the beds have mosquitoe nets and all...

The staff are a mother/ daughter duo who are all about making their guests feel right at home. There is clearly a creative mind hard at work here; the walls and doors are covered in the coolest paintings. You can see the beach from the hammocks in the common area and the hostel is partially surrounded by a small lagoon....

I'm glad this place is on TripAdvisor, because we had a time finding it and were really glad we did. I came to Mazunte with 2 other people, and we did the whole walk around with our bags thing. After being sketched out by a few places, we happened upon La Isla and were very happy we did. Basically there's...

La Isla is right down at the sand in Mazunte's Beach. The building is new and very cosy. Owners are great people and their friends who hang around there are as well. Just a great point to be at the beach with the sea at 50 mts, to rest, meet people and walk around. Mazunte is a little paradise, anyone...

I am right now sitting in La Islas' garden having some breakfast. Actually it's not a garden, more like a private part of the beach since the ground is from sand and you can see and hear the ocean everytime (the real beach is only 5 meters away from the garden). It is a very relaxed place, friendly atmosphere and...
