Put your hands in your pocket and sort this place out. The restaurant has been the same for the last 20yrs and the quality of the food is far from good. Our meal was tepid lacked flavour and was generally a disappointment. The staff were attentive and friendly and were obviously rushed off their feet. It is false economy to...

Had an overnight stay on business recently. Evening meal was great and chef is happy to mix the ingredients around of the various pastas which was appreciated. Rooms are comfortable though my room was chilly when I arrived and I had to fiddle with the radiator to get it to heat up. All staff were friendly and the breakfast was...

Had a lovely meal here and I stayed in one of the rooms at the last minute. Staff attentive and helpful with ramps for wheelchair and adapted meals in the restaurant although stairs only to rooms (listed building). Hope to visit again soon.

We love this hotel as it is old and quirky and has tones of character. However; We arrived. "Did they tell you it is the noisy room above the bar?" 'They' hadn't - Shock horror, but in fact it turned out okay. Our dinner table was near the kitchen by a fire door with air vents in it. We were...

I think we should have eaten in the restaurant as that seems to get better reviews than the bar. The food was disappointing especially the sea food platter which was overpriced for a limited offering. No lemon provided with scampi. Two of us had steaks which were okay though a little tough. Plenty of chips (though not very hot) and...

Stale ginger wine,a kerfuffle while another member of staff confirmed it. Requested a cognac instead, the glass had an unidentifiable brown blob on the rim. Had to ask for another. On observing restaurant meals, the salad toppings look dry & inedible. Nearby bar meals most prominent odour was of very stale scampi. Would not recommend this place to anyone with...

During a recent week's tour of East Anglia, we chose The Angel in Halesworth to spend our Wednesday and Thursday night, partly on the strength of previous TA reviews, also because we have friends living in the town with whom we wanted to share a meal. There doesn't appear to be much alternative accommodation in the town anyway, so The...

The Angel Hotel is a lovely old inn right in the centre of town. Not that Halesworth is a very big place, but it's nice to be smack bang in the middle of things. Great welcome with a big smile, in fact all the staff where very friendly and helpful at all times. Nice old room looking onto the pedestrianised...

I really landed on my feet when I booked the Angel at Halesworth as my base for the concerts in the Alwyn Festival at nearby Blythburgh. The hotel has character by the ton, with friendly bars, a great selection of drinks, an Italian themed restaurant and a pleasant sitting out area at the back that is something of a suntrap,...

I have been a regular of the Angel Hotel Bar for over 20 years. This pub has lost the plot, unfriendly very expensive and shabby decor and furniture. Sit in the bar at 23.05 and you are told to leave as they put the chairs on the tables The bar and Hotel needs to up the game, redecorate and start...
