Pre-Christmas lunch for four. We were the first people to arrive and the restaurant was a bit cold. Very nice and cheerful Australian waitress. The three course festive feast at £19.95 per head was very good value. Food was well cooked and portion sizes good. We all enjoyed our meals. We had: Starters: 2 x Cheese souffle, 2 x salmon...

Stayed for my cousins wedding. Was very disappointed in our room had light beaming through door. Shower was rubbish! Could go on and on! Woke for breakfast next morning at 9am seated ourself waited 20 mins before someone came to serve us, only ordered toast. The toast came about another 20 mins later. Extreamly disappointed. Overpriced, outdated and slow customer...

First tried this place on a groupon deal which cost next to nothing, having held no great expectations we were more than suprised at firstly the warm welcome from staff and a free glass of bubbly, to a lovely quaint room with a 4 poster bed overlooking farmland. The location is superb and the restaurant offers exquisite food, all home...

There was a party of 18 ladies for our Christmas party. There was hardly anyone there so there was no atmosphere. The service was not too good. The starter and deserts were excellent but the main courses were not too good. We shall not be visiting again.

Just returned from a Xmas lunch with friends and the food was very good, well cooked, fresh and hot. The staff were efficient and friendly. Only downside was the prices of the drinks, £6 for a glass of wine ? A bottle was £17.95 for a bottle of average Zinfandel that cost £4 at a supermarket, I felt this was...

We stopped by one lunch time just on spec. What a wonderful place of character and good food. The ceiling is a mass of antiques and the place has a nice atmosphere partially due no doubt to the excellent staff. We had two courses for £12.95. Mine was a succulent flat iron steak with Béarnaise sauce, flat field mushroom and...

This was a last minute booking via Booking.com It was cheaper than the advertised price and we paid £9.95 pp extra for breakfast. A very warm welcome on Saturday afternoon and very easy check in. No form filling, car registration etc. Just a swipe of a credit card and then to the room. (9) Very clean and quaint. Bedding was...

Stayed at The Royal Arms for 3 nights as partner Richard 111 enthusiast. Lovely rooms in set back from main building. Very large car park bit disconcerting as not many cars. Ate in restaurant which was very good but bit lonely as we were only people eating. Overall good experience but needed more guests to give it atmosphere.

Stayed here for a night when a friend got married. A great place for a wedding! Staff are efficient and friendly and the space works for food/band/people. Bizarrely, the hotel charge card couldn't be used in the bar marquee. This turned out well for me as it meant I got bought drinks all night. If you're staying, it's important to...
