Redcoats is renowned, in the local area, for being a cut above the rest; somewhere to really make an impression and/or to treat someone special. I stayed in one of the superior rooms which absolutely oozed character and transported you back in time a few hundred years. Everything from the creaking floorboards to the exposed timber beams wrapped you up...

I booked the hotel for a special night and we were not disappointed at all, we have eaten at the restaurant further down into the village and always spoke about trying the hotel and restaurant, we were greeted by a very happy French man working thee front of house who gave us a quick guided tour and showed us to...

Beautiful surroundings and quaint building. The tea was unfortunately very disappointing compared to others we've had. The service although friendly was very slow and the food wasnt create either although they did accommodate gluten free at very short notice. I wouldn't go back which is a shame considering how liveth the setting is. Maybe we were just unlucky.

Dear CJH70, We are all very sorry to read that you did not enjoy your afternoon tea as much as you expected. I am of course more than happy to discuss the matter with you in person and maybe invite you back in the New Year? We 'tweak' our Afternoon Tea offering regularly so hopefully the next one will be...

Easy taxi transfer from Station to Hotel. Friendly greeting and shown to room. My room was in the farmhouse and was very clean and tidy. Floor was uneven which added to the experience. Bathroom clean but shower was slow to warm up. Lever was quite loose and is probably due for upgrade. Pleasant surroundings with nice bar and restaurant. Meals...

After a four hour drive up from Bristol, which was particularly unpleasant on the M25 and A1, I was very happy to have found the hotel. My room was comfortable although the radiator seems to know only two states: off or very hot. After a drink in the bar and ordering my dinner, I was shown to my table. Service...

Three of us went to Redcoats for afternoon tea as a treat for my Mum's birthday in September (I'm a little delayed in writing this review). We asked for a nut free version, not due to allergies, just that two of us dislike nuts. This request accommodated without a problem. As it was my Mum's birthday, there were happy birthdays...

What a wonderful place to stay! My husband booked it for my birthday - a room, dinner and breakfast. We arrived and were shown to our room in the converted stable block. Lovely room. After we had settled in, we went to the bar. We were going to sit in the bar, but the manageress suggested 2 comfy chairs by...

I attended Redcoats for an afternoon tea, there were 25 of us for a baby shower. The food was lovely! Service was ok, could have been a little quicker but they had 100 people in for afternoon tea so I have chosen not to reduce my rating on that basis. I definitely recommend and I will be returning!

We were celebrating a special lady's birthday and decided to have afternoon tea here what a brilliant decision. Beautiful surroundings we were greeted by very welcoming staff who showed us to our table. The service was excellent nothing was too much effort even to the point of making additional sandwiches for specific dietary needs. The food was fresh and the...

Dear P J, Thank you for your kind comments, I am glad to read that you enjoyed your recent afternoon tea experience with us. Redcoats Farmhouse is very different to your average hotel accomodation. It's several centuries old, with lots of character. Some parts of the main building need a decorative uplift, however, the building is very querky and this adds to the overall charm. The food is good, the breakfasts were very plentiful, freshly cooked and hot... something you don't get in large...
