16 of us booked a table for Sunday lunch. Although this is a Marston pub we were disappointed to discover that 2 for 1 did not apply on a Sunday although in every other pub I have been to in the chain it does apply. I chose the gammon steak which was much saltier than it need have been. Some...

My family and I stayed here 2 weeks ago after a family gathering. We were given two large rooms at the top of the old house 3rd floor. We were welcomed by both a member of staff and the manager stating if we needed anything let him know. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the children enjoyed staying. There...

Food in pub was ok, no better. Breakfast, very average. Room was dirty, months of dust/ dirt all around the skirting near bed head. Bed was really old/ uncomfortable. Yes it was cheap but not cheap enough!!

I didn't stay in hotel, I stayed in annex, noisy, could hear people above walking about & going up stairs, toilet system was very noisy... just run of mill place, food was ok, like a harvester sort of food, with poor decor. Breakfast was good, so my husband said, I missed it, due to catching up on the sleep I'd...

I have visited the owl before and hadn't been for years so decided to return. The pub itself is very quaint and is a nice cosy atmosphere. The hotel however is where my disappointment is, the rooms cleanliness standards were far from acceptable. The bathroom was the main problem the fact there was stains and poo already in the toilet...

The food was lovely ... though the waiting staff leave alot to be desired... The following did not impress me much.... Chewing gum while taking my order Not wearing any socks Wearing skin tight black trousers and calling me "Pal"!!!! So my advice is to not act like a muppet, and not to assume that your customers are muppets!!!!

We eat here usually once a week as we live close by in the village. Monday toThursdaya couple can have a steak and chips plus a bottle of Shiraz for £20 and on a Wednesday a decent curry with a large glass of wine or lager for £7.95. Very good value, it must be as friends of ours travel from...

We stayed here in December 2016 as we wanted to visit the Christmas Markets in York and couldn't get in to York itself. Rooms were away from the actual pub across the car park, but were clean and comfortable and very good value for money. We also booked a table to eat in the pub for the evening and the...
