I have made a spontaneous decision to stay in a small cabin in the Holiday Park, as it was getting dark and I run out of fuel. And I was not disappointed at all! My cabin was really close to the beach, I could hear waves from my bed and even a sunrise from my window. Except for the ocean... More

Booked a cabin for NZD60. Reasonably clean with double bed bunk (single on top). You need to bring your own linen/blankets or hire for $10. Wireless is unsecured hot... for $5 but not reliable. Shared bathroom facilities are Ok. Hot water costs 50c for 5 mins. We were amongst 3 cabins next to the entrance and only 1 minute to... More

My better half and I stayed here in late February, 2016. Because school had already started and it was coming towards the end of summer, the pace was like a ghost town. I think we only saw 3 other people the two days we stayed there. That was perfect for us! The cabin we had was right next to the... More

Tented on a powered site, camp site is very aged and in need of a lot of TLC especially when paying the same rates as you would at a Glam Camp site. Ablutions clean and tidy, paid for WiFi but no go... no biggie, on top of the over the top rates, the showers are coin operated and the drizzle... More

owner so helpful, spotlessly clean, bins emptied regular, music to shower by, tank water only, keep it short, rinse sand off at beach side shower. Great kitchen tv. lounge and dining if required. fridge or freezers available. place to charge cameras. I recommend this park highly to any visitor. Dave A.

We really enjoyed our stay and were warmly welcomed. It is worth asking for a pitch right on the edge of the beach, though these can be very windy. We loved staying here and it is a short walk round to the lagoon where we saw seals in the morning. One of our favourite places - absolutely stunning.

Not sure what sort of room we booked but it was very....old, clean but old. Toilets were outside shared with the room next to us, bunk beds were not suitable for tall people. No TV (which isn't a bad thing) but place was very clean. I guess we were taken with what our room looked like and were expecting a... More

Our room was very fifties style and the toilet and shower were outside next to our room which was a little off putting. The bunks were not suitable for anyone over six foot but we still enjoyed our stay there. Bit stinky outside though,Shabby but clean.

Stayed in Castlepoint for 4 days in our tent - what a fantastic place. Facilities were so clean and the owners very friendly. Great location and lovely walks to the beach. Just great. They also have hotel rooms available down the road from the campground. Will be going back again for sure. The walk to the Lighthouse was lovely too.... More

I didn't mind the fact the family unit was authentically N.Z. baching, having had no maintenance in years. But I did mind the trampoline double bed and the thin foam squabs which made for a really uncomfortable night. The view was great, the Whakataki pub served the best fish n chips, the lighthouse walk was neat. But the room is... More
