You can really tell the owners of the Waitomo Lodge pride themselves on having a clean and tidy facility. Rooms were extremely comfortable and well organised. Beds and bed linen were best we've found in New Zealand (yes, even better than the larger Auckland 5* hotels). As we had our three children along, the absolute best feature was the layout...

We enjoyed our stay. The room was fresh and clean. The heating was efficient. We stayed in a studio, the bathroom was a large wet room, with the usual problem of these types of bathrooms that the floor and toilet get splashed when you shower. Plenty of hot water though. We would definitely stay again. Appreciated the free wifi..

I have stayed a few times here for work. Everytime I arrive I get a warm greeting and quick check in. I loved my room ....plenty of space to relax in. It was a cold stormey night and the heating in the room worked a treat. It was lovely listening to the rain on the roof. Great wiifii...with good desk...

While I stayed one night only, I could easily have stayed for longer. The view from my room was awesome- garden, river, railway, hill, mist etc . The room was good sized, the bed very comfy, the shower hot and good accessories for a self- cooking motel stay. There's a bit of noise from the state highway and the trains,...

This well equipped motel is kept clean and tidy. There is a large shared kitchen facility for anyone who wants to cook, however the rooms have everything you need if you want to just eat a takeaway in peace. The linen was great quality and comfortable, and the bed was very easy to sleep in. The only thing I would...

Had a one night stop over here on the way to the glow caves, close location to some awesome restaurants and just across the road from an excellent walking track and walking distance from a supermarket. Motel was extremely clean and great service at front desk. Exceeds my expectations for budget accommodation!

Much better than you would expect from a drive-in Motel. Room was spotless, bed was comfortable and heating worked well so no complaints! There is a train line immediately behind the rooms though which is loud but didn't bother us. Would stay here again if in the area.

This Lodge is a very comfortable rest stop. It is clean and efficient and has a well laid out space inside. We were able to get a few things from the grocery store which was 5 minutes walk away and heat them up in our little kitchenette area in our room. We had breakfast the next morning across the road...

We booked this hotel through I-Site and were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and comfort. It isn't right in Waitomo but was just a short drive. We had a nice view to woods and railroad tracks. The trains passed but did not bother us.

Thank Susan J
