I have just returned from these apartments, after spending a fabulous week there. If I could I would have stayed longer. The place is beautiful, the grounds are built like a small village. It’s a five minute walk to the beach and various tavernas, bars and shops. I stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment room 307. It was lovely. So clean and the most comfortable bed ever. The shower pressure is great, the bathroom was so modern. I was on the ground floor with a lovely shaded terrace. It was very quiet at night and I had the best sleep. No issues with sun beds plenty to go round. I never had an issue getting one. There is a bar/snack bar I only had drinks there. I had a small issue with the air con on day one, the staff went above and beyond to sort. Especially Kostas the manager who gave up his fan until it was fixed. I am going to book for next year, I cannot praise this place high enough.…
We stayed in a superior room and it was lovely. Really spacious and spotless. The staff are all so friendly and the bar/restaurant is open all day. Tavernas really good and only a five minute walk from the beach. Ideal for middle aged couples, there's nice and bars and restaurants but not really too lively for people under 30 (lol)
We have had a family holiday here for the first time and the layout of the apartments are well designed like a village, from the cleaning ladies, bar staff, right through to the top man Kostas they were very helpful. We had a late checkout so asked Kostas if we could pay for a room but he would have non of it ,he gave us two ,so the eight of us could prepare for the flight home
I've stayed at Ourania Apartments previously and have been looking forward to getting back. This was my third visit, previously with my daughter and then with my husband as I'd liked it so much. My flight had been delayed yet on arrival there was a friendly and enthusiastic welcome waiting for us. Even though it had been over 2 years since we'd last been we were welcomed by Kostas and his Team as though we were members of the family. I've stayed in both the Traditional rooms and the Newer Block. My personal preference is the Superior Studio with balcony or Terrace however the Standard rooms are also very good. Cleaning Staff maintain the room daily and alternate with the tasks they do. Bins are emptied daily. The Apartments are laid out in a Village like setting which is very peaceful and pleasing to the eye and there are 3 different exits/entrances to the site when you're ready to explore. There are many Bars and Tavernas, some very close and if you wanted a wander on the cool of the night there are even more in the Centre which is about 1.5miles and easily strollable. For Self Catering there are some small shops where you can find some basic produce and a small supermarket opposite the beach with a larger supermarket in the Centre. Kostas keeps a Bus Timetable at reception if you want to travel further afield and he's always happy to help if you want to look at trips, hire a bike, order a taxi or even a takeaway. As I write this review my daughter is staying at Ourania Apartments with her Partner. It was her Birthday during her first week and with help from Kostas my husband and I were able to preplan a Birthday cake for her before we headed home. Kostas has gone out on our behalf, ordered and presented the cake to her and sent a picture to me. Ourania offers a small food menu if you wanted to eat on site and my husband highly recommends the Full English which is served all day. As with anywhere in Greece there are cats who live on site but don't worry if you're not a fan as they tend to move on if you don't entertain them, though if you do want their company weve found they're very happy to curl up on the sunlounger or visit your balcony/terrace at times. Kostas has a little feeding area and looks after them so they are cared for. In England we have a system for rating services (usually nhs) where they ask if you'd recommend to Family and friends, I have to say that I would definately recommend Ourania to all my family and friends. You couldn't ask for better people to look after your holiday needs…
6 of us had a lovely 2 week holiday here in May. Staff were really friendly and very helpful. The pictures on line do not do justice to just how beautifully the apartments are set out. It feels like you are staying in a small Greek village. Beach, shops, restaurants are a 10 minute walk away. I am a travel agent and have already sent other customers to stay here.
Such lovely apartments, we upgraded to a newly refurbished ground floor apartment. Big shower, nice kitchen area, such comfy beds the best on any holiday we’ve had. Beautiful gardens, nice pool area, walk to all tavernas, bars and shops is 2 mins.
As others have said, it is a lovely apartment complex. We stayed in a superior room and enjoyed the ground floor terrace as it was sunny and shady. Some of the first floor superior balconies looked liked they were in full sun. We also visited a 2 bedroom older apartment and it was lovely except for the terrace was a bit small for 4 people. The pool is 1 metre, 1.5 metres and 1..60 metres in depth. As others have said plenty of restaurants, bars and tavernas and shops within walking distance. I was with my husband. If I was a woman alone or with another woman or young girls, I would prefer some where that I did not have to walk up a private lonely road.
We recently spent a week at the Ourania and it was so relaxing . The apartments are very basic but so little time is spent in them they suffice . The grounds and poolside areas are really well maintained , quiet background music from the bar which was nice it was just a pity some of the other guests wanted to share their music around the pool . I feel a few notices reminding guests that not everyone wants to listen to their music while trying to relax around the pool would be helpful. It’s intrusive whilst trying to read or sleep/sunbathe and very selfish. The staff were excellent , so friendly and always polite .They kept the bar area spotless .
So happy that we booked this resort. The grounds and pool were beautifully kept. We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the bar and cafe. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had a 2nd floor apartment which was basic to be honest but we didn't need any more. It was spotlessly clean and housekeeping came round regularly. We loved sitting on our private balcony with a view to the mountains on one side and the sea on the other. The location was ideal for us - a short walk to the beach and restaurants. Highly recommend Island restaurant at the beach - great food and live music some nights. In the other direction another short walk to the bus stop. It was easy to travel on the bus to Heraklion and Knossos and to Agios Nikolaus to visit Spinalonga without paying the outrageous prices TUI charge for the trips. Thanks to all the staff there for a fabulous stay…
Excellent room, could do with a shower curtain mind, very clean and tidy, grounds well cared for, pool and bar very good, wonderful service and food. Highly recommended, a little further out from the very quiet(in May) resort than we would normally go for but two options - straight down to beach or around the back of a few hotels to a street with a few restaurants and bars - tried them all Skorpios and Mylos were really nice on this side as was sirocco and the island on the beach. The bar opposite Medusa was the best value for drinks away from the beach and the blue diogenesis?? Bar was good value on the beach but they all seem to be using 50ml measures in the bars here now.
