The hotel has a number of very good points, and regrettably some issues.
On the negative side, some of the drinks, being local varieties. are an acquired taste, something which I never managed to achieve (my favourite tipple being 5* Metaxa).

Taxi will take about fifteen to twenty mins, public bus (coach) leave the airport very regularly and stop five mins from the hotel - just say Kato Gouves and the name of the hotel - and takes about half an hour. I imagine a shared transfer with other holiday makers will not be much longer but will depend on how many others are getting off before you.
As for bars, towards the beach and also heading a little west (all within walking distance) there are lots of nice bars and shops. We liked a sports bar on the left further down the road past the Rainbow bar(heading towards the beach). It's not a built up place which we liked bit I imagine in peak season it's quite busy. We went in October and it was blissfully quiet
