Amazing early 1900 villa in the gorgeous ancient town of Barga. The staff is amazing as are the grounds, pool, breakfast, rooms, and balconies are stunning. The staff washed our baby clothes every day to help us with our long trip. The villa's tower is the best lookout point in that stunning region of Lucca. The owner offered to help with geneology as well. Just superb. We are going back!

We stayed here for a week and were given a warm welcome by Beatrice, Nadia and all the staff. The hotel is perfectly situated to explore Barga and the surrounding Serchio valley. The hotel only has 12 rooms and feels very intimate, more like staying with friends rather than in a hotel. The rooms are charming, ours had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool and surrounding tranquil countryside. The breakfasts were more than adequate, and pool very welcome after a hot day exploring the local countryside. Beatrice, Nadia and team were delightful and went out their way to ensure we had everything we needed, including ordering taxis for us to to get to and from the train station. I would highly recommend Villa Moorings and hope to stay with them again.

We had a lovely time staying in Beatrice's hotel situated in Barga. Very impressive building with nice rooms and balcony overlooking the Serchio Valley. Great place to be based for exploring Northern Tuscany. The surrounding hill towns are beautiful and very quiet. The Scottish connection with Barga is fascinating. Special thanks to Beatrice and Nadia and all other staff for making us feel so welcome!

I very highly recommend this beautiful hotel! The rooms are vintage, yet wonderfully well appointed with modern amenities. Cheerful and helpful owners and staff that treat you like family. Easy walk to the old town Barga.

This beautiful old house is amazing, and Beatrice and Anna Rosa are such kind and thoughtful hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for them, everything is just so, the breakfasts are excellent (too many lovely cakes!!) and there is a good sized pool with plenty of seating in the sun and the shade. Our room was lovely, with a terrace overlooking the town and the hills. It is an ideal location in Barga - a couple of minutes walk from the old town but quiet and peaceful - not disturbed by the music festival and the church bells! Barga is such a beautiful and vibrant place to visit, and this is definitely the loveliest place to stay when you are there.

My husband, my daughter and I recently stayed for four nights in this lovely hotel. Our hosts could not have been more accommodating! They arranged to have breakfast ready earlier than usual, as we left the hotel each morning to hike the surrounding mountains. It was so nice to return to our clean, comfortable, spacious rooms, clean up and have a beverage on the terrace overlooking the pool. I highly recommend this property to all who visit beautiful Barga!

This hotel is situated just outside the central part of Barga, but a wonderful spot with a pure, classic style and excellent service to make your stay a special occassion. Rooms are good. The main town is a couple of minutes walking and a pleasure to do.

An art deco treasure with intact lighting, painted ceilings and private balconies. Look no further than Villa Moorings for a knowledgeable English speaking host, Beatrice. Barga is one of Italys off the beaten track hill towns that fortunately allows you first hand access without meeting coaches of guidebook carrying travelers. This accommodation offers only 10 unique rooms. Unlimited hot water, home cooked breakfast and 12 ft ceilings on the top floor.

As a family, we stayed here for our best friends wedding in the beautiful village of Barga. The wedding party took over the entire hotel and I cannot praise this hotel highly enough. The building itself is beautiful - a traditional large Italian house with bedrooms that were elegantly furnished with traditional wooden furniture. Our room had air conditioning and this was great in the balmy Italian summer heat. The owner of the hotel, Beatrice, could not have been more helpful. A charming, friendly host who looked after our every need. Her English was superb and she was always on hand with advice for shops in the local area etc. The rooms had well equipped mini bar and a safe. The bathrooms were all spotlessly clean and modern. Every day, the rooms were cleaned to a very high standard. The breakfast was always excellent. something for everyone including the children. A traditional Italian breakfast that all guests enjoyed. The grounds of the hotel are immaculate. A beautiful pool with a shower outside and plenty loungers plus plenty areas for resting in the shade too. As we were staying for a wedding, the hotel staff pulled out all the stops for the wedding buffet. The cold buffet that they prepared blew everyone away. Stunning food that every guest thoroughly enjoyed. This is testament to the level of quality that is found in every detail of our stay. A well resources bar in the comfortable lounge room was always a great respite from the outdoor hear. Again, Beatrice was more than happy to make the most amazing local cocktails that were unique to the area. Would I return to the Villa moorings hotel? Yes and without hesitation. If I was to return to Barga, this would be the first hotel we would try to book. A beautiful hotel, with exceptional staff in a truly picturesque part of Italy.

stayed here recently for my friends wedding (which was held in the grounds). The Hotel is beautiful - large rooms and lovely swimming pool. Beautiful setting and the breakfast was gorgeous with lots of choice. The hosts are what really make this Hotel - hardworking and always happy to help with any queries etc. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Would recommend a stay here to anyone and will definitely return. Thank you all for making our stay such a pleasure.
