We spent 3 nights in Barga and were completely charmed and delighted both by this village and and our wonderful hotel. This hotel is a treasure with a delicious breakfast each day and is full of art work that is a feast for the eyes. Our hosts could not have been more hospitable, helpful and generous.
We were on honeymoon and had a small suite in this stunningly appointed 3 bedroom hotel. It is right in the heart of the ancient walled town of Barga. This is really a boutique B&B with the rooms being beautifully decorated and the facilities first class. Great breakfasts! 10 metres to a great restaurant in a vibrant artistic community with a jazz festival. But total peace in the rooms. We were looked after with great care by Kathy the owner and were genuinely sad to say goodbye. Artistic, clean, modern and wonderful
You don't see very often such a taken care of in the details small tiny Hotel. This beautiful designed high level B&B is located in Barga in the hearth of the old medieval Borgo and not far from the legendary Duomo that you can visit anytime. The more famous Lucca, little Florence is about 45 Minutes drive after you might follow to Pisa another 20 minutes.
Worth taking a side trip for while in Tuscany! The owner is from the U.S. so commination is easy and she can recommend many things to see. My wife and I hiked up to a village she recommended, if you are up for a 6 mile walk you'll get some great views of the area.
I was traveling to Barga. I almost never travel by myself and wanted a little luxury for my stay. This was the place. My room was so comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast was wonderful. I loved everything about this B&B. The only thing that stops me from giving them an excellent rating is that, although the owners live nearby, there is no one on the premises during the night. This was a little strange for me. But I felt completely safe. Also, be advised there is not parking except the owners met me to transport my luggage which was fine. But otherwise I would tell anyone to stay here.
We had our second stay here in May (sorry Cathy and Walter for not writing this before now!) and it was just as we remembered. Fabulous rooms and service from Cathy and Walter for whom nothing is too much trouble. With just 3 rooms you feel as though you have the house to yourselves and can relax and enjoy the contemporary decor in this historic building. We love Barga and Acchiapassogni, hope to return again soon and would not hesitate to recommend both to lovers of Italy.
We (a couple) stayed at Acchiappasogni for one week in August. We were very pleased with everything! The owners, Walter and Cathy, are charming and welcoming, and they have an excellent sense for detail, which we greatly appreciated. The room was clean and nicely designed, decorated with good taste and featuring interesting art pieces. The equipment was high-end throughout. Although we had the room facing the street, we were not too bothered by noise (it is a pedestrian area, you are bound to get a few people talking loud while on the street after dinner / drinks, but that's it). Walter and Cathy were always happy to give good recommendations on things to do and see in the area. We enjoyed Barga a lot, and would definitely come back and stay at Acchiappasogni again.
This was our second trip to barga this year and having seen this b&b first time round we had promised ourselves we would stay here when we came back. It was the perfect choice. Walter and his assistant were so accommodating... Even when we were checking out early for an early flight Walter told us to have breakfast at luchessi's which we did as it opens from 6. It's the little touches that make a holiday special...the warm GENUINE welcome, the lovely toiletries, the complimentary mini bar, the free wifi, the advise on where to go. All I can say is if your going to Barga don't pass this gem of a b&b. You really are made feel special :-)
We spent one night here and Acchiappasogni really deserves the use of the word "luxury". The facilities cannot be faulted. Everything has been chosen with superb taste and sense of style and yet the technology is bang up to date. Walter and Cathy go out of their way to be helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended!
Stayed at Acchiapassogni with my husband during June for one week. Due to my son being married at I Cedri estate near Barga. Acchiapassogni boutique bed and breakfast is an exceptional establishment in the old part of Barga. The owner Walter and his Manager Cathy are extremely welcoming and all staff at this superb place are most friendly. The location is next to all restaurants surrounded by lovely cobbled streets. Barga is a very interesting place with lots of art studios and Walter the owner of Acchiapassogni has a real enthusiasm for the art world. It was a delight to sit having breakfast and being surrounded by lots of paintings and sculptures. A very relaxing start to our day! Breakfast was first class with a large variety of cereals, fresh fruit and pastries, meats and cheeses brought daily from a bakery nearby. Our room was a small double but had everything required to make it a perfect stay. En-suite attached together with state of the art flat screen 3D TV, Internet. An added bonus was a fridge in which the contents were all free and re-stocked daily. This included beer, wine, water, chocolate, peanuts and biscuits also provided in the room. I would have no hesitation in recommending Acchiappasogni for a delightful stay in Barga. In fact do not miss this one. I am missing it already and hope to return one day. Thank you all at The Acchiapassogni for making our holiday very special. …
