This is our third time visiting, the views from the roof terrace are wonderful, you can see the Duomo and the mountains. The staff are friendly and attend to every need. We celebrated my wife’s 50th birthday with friends and they really made our stay welcoming!

The Hotel is well located in the modern part of town, but only 5 minutes walk to the historical center. The reception was very kind and helped us with tips and info. The room was a bit dated and in need of some maintenance in the bathroom, but clean. Walls too thin, so that you could hear everybody speaking in the room nearby and in the corridor. The breakfast was both poor quality and variety.

We stayed here for two nights and loved every minute. This small hotel Is family run and the staff are the friendliest, nicest people you will ever find in the hotel business. The hotel is very surprising. There is a beautiful roof top where you can buy wine or beer or whatever from the bar and go and enjoy the warm evening. There is also a couple of blow up spas. ( we never managed to do either as we were too busy, but did sit on the rooftop for a week while. The rooms are standard but there is a great shower and hairdryer!!!! For an extra 5 euro you can add a buffet breakfast which is great and so reasonable for what you get. Excellent location within walking distance to shops, restaurants and a supermarket. Not sure if La Pergola restaurant is aligned to this hotel, but the food is fantastic also..just about 50 metres away. We were late in booking so couldn't book a balcony room but am sure they are worth it!! I also left some clothes in the wardrobe and the manager was sooo quick to respond and courier them to our desired location. Literally the staff are exceptional !!!!! Would stay here is we ever come back again. Love this place!!!

My hubby and I were over in Barga visiting family and for the visit of the Befana, who in italian folklore is an old lady living in the woods and she brings sweets and gifts to the children on 5th January, day before the feast of the Epiphany. Everybody celebrates with some dressing up as the Befana. The kids dress up as old folk too! We stayed at the Pergola, a lovely, clean, central hotel only a 5 min walk from the centre. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The view from the rooftop terrazzo is a must see! Definitely recommend.

The hotel is very close to the centre of the lovely old town of Barga. Some staff speak great English, some don't, but ALL are really friendly and helpful. My room was top floor with a balcony, spotlessly clean, it faced the sun virtually all day and it was lovely to sit there with a glass of wine in the late summer sun. One wonderful feature of this hotel is the rooftop terrace which has great views of the surrounding mountain scenery and the town. There are even hot tubs up there for summer visitors! Breakfast was an excellent buffet with the usual cheese, ham and fruits, croissants, etc. The only feature I can find to criticise with this hotel is that room shower cubicles are somewhat small, but that's quite often seen in many Italian hotels, I didn't find it a big problem, I'll return one day - but I won't drive up from Pisa next time, I'll use the train. The roads up from Pisa are really pretty, but narrow and winding, and Italian drivers don't seem to have lots of patience for slow tourists. :)

Visited Barga for a week on the 2nd August 2018, we stayed in the La Pergola which is a lovely little hotel maybe a bit dated but in a nice way, the hotel is spotless rooms are a good size and are cleaned every day towels are changed also every day. i agree with the other reviews the shower is a bit small but we did get by, our room was at the front of the hotel with beautiful views across the old town. The staff at the hotel are fantastic and very helpful, there is no pool but a public pool is a short walk away and only 6 euros to use for the full day, the hotel does have a rooftop sitting area with hot tubs. The hotel is in a great location for walking to the old town. Barga is a beautiful place i will return and would use this hotel again.
