After the hotel next door had cocked up our booking, they managed to get us into this hotel The Highwayman. As we were in Shepton Mallet for a wedding, we were very apprehensive as we had no time to look for somewhere else if we didnt like it...but to say we were happy with The Highwayman is an understatement. This...

Fairly basic hotel, rooms at the front are quite noisy as close to a busy road. Breakfast was okay but we were not given any choice - the waitress just said we could have cereal or a fry up! The décor was very dated but seemed to be quite clean.

I stayed here for 6 nights, arriving on a Sunday evening. As soon as I arrived, even before they had shown me the room, they wanted payment, which seems strange nowadays, but if it is company policy. What would have happened, if I was not satisfied with the room? The room was small, but acceptable and clean, with good Black-out...

I stopped here as it was very close to where I was working. If you just want a bed for the night that's fairly clean then this place ain't to bad, but the rooms are cramped to the point where it's difficult to even get dressed properly. My room had a few loose floor tiles in the bathroom plus a...

We were only there for 1 night for a wedding evening party near by. It was very clean, but the room was quite small, so I wouldn't have wanted to be there for a long stay. The breakfast was very good, so good value all round. Didn't have any other meals there.

We stayed 2 nights last Saturday and Sunday. Before going we requested a quiet room and got one round the back on the top floor - Room 9. A few people have mentioned watching out for the low ceilings before on the top floor. They aren't low but the roof slopes so you've got to watch out on one side...

This hotel is about 2 miles from the Bath & West Showground so was ideal for the New Wine Christian Festival. Although close the main road we were not disturbed by the traffic. The room was clean and there was a roomy shower in the en-suite. We had dinner one evening and the food was fresh & tasty. Breakfast each...

This review is a pre-emptive strike. To explain, we were in this pub/inn tonight and overheard a very loud dissatisfied customer arguing (in increasingly loud tones) with the proprietor - something to do with getting a refund on his room. The owners were polite, calm and seemed to be dealing with this customer in a courteous way, but he was...
