We booked the "old-and-new-year-arrangement" for seven persons. Very familiary atmosphere and nice service. The rooms are quite modest, but clean. The breakfast is good, the including diners were excellent! A really good price-performance ratio.

Two rooms were booked and paid for on line through a travel agency. The hotel was fully booked for the 2 nights we had paid for. The receptionist was excellent and managed to get us another Fletcher hotel in the area for the same price. While we waited for confirmation, she brought us a great tasting cup of coffee and...

Stayed here for three nights so our group of 10 could travel back and forth to Assen for the superbikes. Great hotel, very friendly and lively staff. Breakfast a little bit bland, but I'm nit picking. Cracking bar in the hotel and three or four really good restaurants minutes walk away. If taking a motorcycle, good parking at the rear....

spent two nights at this hotel for the WSB at Assen. Plenty parking and the hotel was really comfortable. Lovely village with friendly people. Ate at the Italian across the canal and also the Balkan a few doors along. Had a great night in the Balkan when the 9 of us asked the boss to pick the food for us....

Stayed here for 2 nights in September to use as a base for Assen race track. Can not recommend highly enough. Loved every minute here. Plenty of room for Parking, lovely bar area, great breakfast on a morning. Restaurant also looked good although didn't eat there. In a beautiful village, literally a 15 minute drive from Assen which was almost...

We stayed at the Hotel De Zon in late September, using it as a base for cycling day trips in the surrounding countryside. The small town of Oosterwolde is a quiet place with few amenities, but it is located in a beautiful part of the country, close to Appelscha and the Nationaal Park Drents-Friese Wold. The guest rooms are basic...

I don't get the 3 star bit of this hotel...value for money? I don't think so! Okay, the bed was good, and it was clean but everything was so outdated, the room was really small, the website mentiones a spacious bathroom but I can assure you: spacious it is not! Also the website mentiones a sauna... I could not find...

I got a "delux" room which had a small balcony overlooking the canal. The rooms are deeply in need of an update; carpets on the floor is a bit smelly. But the beds are very good. The breakfast was very good and lots to choose from.

This old hotel has got additional rooms which consist of 2 rows of old restored porto cabins. This brings us back to the seventies, when these were used as temporary construction cabins. A narrow room with a narrow, shower at one site and a basic toilet at the other. Cold linoleum on the floor, a 'camping'-tv, no fridge, etc. Unworthy...

“Our room faced the interior car park. I understand that some rooms face the canal, which would have been a more pleasant view. However, we spent the days cycling so the views weren't important to our experience.”
