We stayed here in July for 9 nights. We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children ages 4 and 8. Overall we had a great time. The hotel is great for families. The kids pool area is great and there are plenty of activities to join in if you want to. The hotel is very spacious and there are plenty sun beds around the pool area. There is entertainment at night and entertainment for children. The majority of guests here are Spanish and children who speak any language other than Spanish would find it difficult to join in or to understand. The hotel is in quite a secluded area so if you are looking for a resort surrounded by lots of restaurants and bars this would not suit you. The beach is lovely and there is a beach bar close to the hotel. There is also an excellent restaurant called la Calita close by. The dining area is very busy at breakfast and dinner times. The breakfast was good. We only had dinner twice in the hotel. It’s a self service buffet which wasn’t relaxing. It’s handy if you just want to eat but if you want to relax and enjoy a meal I would recommend La Calita. The staff at la calita are excellent and so is the food. We generally had lunch at the pool bar which was nice, however, the menu is limited and the service is very slow. The cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful and the reception staff were ok. They were not very forthcoming with information. You had to drag information out of them. There were no English speaking TV channels. We didn’t leave our children in the kids club as we kept them out of the sun between 2-5 and the kids club seemed to bring the children to the kids pool area during the hottest part of the day. Overall, this is a lovely , clean hotel and it is great for families in a beautiful secluded and unspoilt part of Spain. If you are looking for a nice child friendly hotel in a quiet area with a great beach, I would recommend this hotel.…
We have stayed here for two weeks in August. The weather has been magnificent. The hotel itself is the only 3/4 levels high spread over a large complex. Beautiful if very busy at times reception. We stayed all inclusive in a superior room which gave us access to the infinity pool. I think there are 7 pools in total including a huge and very popular main pool with plenty of activities and an excellent children’s pool. We loved the infinity pool located on the 4th floor over looking the beach. The hotel also has a Spa, Gym, 3 restaurants (1 main, 1 more exclusive and 1 further which is outside and turned into a restaurant each night). Food in all 3 is excellent with a huge buffet choice. I would be very surprised if anyone had issue with the food. All inclusive and snacks available the whole time. But how much can you eat? Fantastic selection of inclusive drinks as well. Soft and Alcoholic. The service from some of the staff is world class. Carmen and A.Tello in particular on the bars and Sebastian on reception. All set hello all the time, smile and want to help. Nobody takes you for granted. Service in the more exclusive Atlantida restaurant a little wooden sometimes. Despite its better ambience we preferred the main restaurant which gets super busy. Mainly Spanish families staying here and a few Germans. We barley heard any English or they remain very quiet. The beach which is 20 meters away is Magnificent. It’s the Atlantic and there is a tide. We walked up and down it for many hours. It’s about 4km to Chipiona and there is very little to see and do in the vicinity of the hotel. You can hire a bike, go for a walk but no shops or bars. However, everything you need is in the hotel. I assume many don’t leave it at all. Close by to Cadiz, Jerez, Seville, Rota and Santa Maria for day / half day trips. A brilliant holiday in a top hotel which I cannot recommend highly enough. Rooms are super clean as is the whole hotel. Every room has a balcony. It’s super safe, very family driven and ideal for relaxing. So happy we booked the Best Costa Ballena. Thank you…
Will certainly go back again as it was a memorable stay and the entire family enjoyed Very clean facilities. Good variety of food provided both during breakfast and dinner. Swimming pool, Spa and the gym was also good. Considering the amount of people present, it was very well organised by the management
Room was clean and has a patio no matter what. Place has a pool (and a pool for kids). Food was okay but i didnt stay for that. Hotel was close to the beach, literally walked 2 minutes and BAM! La playa / Beach. Staff are friendly and helpful. FYSA don't be thinking that everyone in the world speaks english! tried my best to speak in spanish coz its how the world goes.
Best Costa Ballena, excellent stay. From our arrival to departure, the attention of the staff, the installation, the food, everything was excellent. Hoping to return very soon and enjoy the experience again.
We have stayed for a week. The weather was great, without Levante wind. The beach is very good like La Barrosa or Conil. The room was big and the bed very comfy. In the pool is not allowed occupied the lounger all day like happen in other hotels. The food in the restaurant is the best, an the desserts and pies are very very good much bettter than other hotels all inclusive I stayed before. I would recommend this hotel if you like a place not very hot and quiet.
Nice, clean and big rooms. We had a king size bed and also a baby crib and remains a lot of space. All the Covid measures are well designed and effective. In the lunch or dinner buffets were provided gloves in order to ensure that there is no human contact with the spoons by serving the food. The pools are also too good to be recommended, the "adults" pool is big and available for both adults and kids with adults supervision, and the "kids" pool is great for babies, toddlers and children. The beach is also great and near the hotel. There is a locking door that enables the beach access using the room card. It is a nice hotel to go with the kids!
We live in Brussels, and due to my work, I travel and sleep in many hotels around the world. In this hotel, the attention, politeness and detailed care of each employee is impressive, far beyond correctness. Wow and bravo for them. The covid protocols are very reasonable, they have everything completely organised, and you do not suffer or feel any impact wrt a non covid situation. They are continously cleaning, they provide you with all what you need and there are no delays to start enjoying anything. We are a family of 4 member. The rooms (double standard) is perfect for us, with large patio for the kids. Clean, tide, calm, completely recommended for families, the kids swimmingpool is marvelous for them, only 30 cm deep and full of attractions. 2 baywatchers taking care of that pool. Buffets complete, high quality, variety, everyday there is a different special menu, you can always find something yummy. We could write much more, but enough to say we will come a third time. Thank you guys.…
Room was nice and big for two adults and a child, staff was very friendly there was lots of fun things to do for kids and adults. The pool bar had good selections and good prices, they also had meals too could buy from the bar. Over all it was a very good hotel and I would visit again
This is our second visit to this hotel (stayed in Oct 2019) noticed a few changes, they now have a covered outside pool which will be handy in the colder months. We visited with our friends and 2 children. The food didn’t seem as good as our first visit, poor quality, but plenty of choice. The Wok Bar is great, choose your Ingredients and the chef cooks it quickly for you. Lots of sun loungers, very clean and Covid restrictions in place in par with other hotels we’ve stayed in over the last year and half. Needed more bar staff constantly long queues for drinks at the pool bar and the evening bar up to 20 minutes at one point. Enjoyed our stay especially the roof top pool included with the superior rooms. The kids slide pool is great for all ages. Only down side been on our second day the life guard was telling everyone in the water slide pool they needed to wear a mask which is just stupid. I’ve been to 5 hotels, and a few water parks and our own shared pool at home during Covid and never heard of this rule before. People were doing water aerobics in the main pool and didn’t need masks, so why was the other pool different. He really spoilt the fun for many family’s and they moved to the other pool. Plenty of parking, lovely beach right in front of the hotel, duck pond next to the hotel, bike hire, other then this nothing much to do in the area around unless you go for a drive. 30 minutes to Jerez.…
