Villa Campestri was the perfect setting for a friend's birthday weekend. We stayed in the Villa Dalia which is a separate self-catering apartment - perfect for 3 of us with a double and a twin-bedded room, 2 shower rooms and a very spacious kitchen/dining/living room complete with washing machine, dishwasher etc and wi-if. We opted for breakfast in the main...

The resort was fabulous...Glorious grounds and the staff and owners welcome you with open arms...the views are everywhere and you just want to stare out into the distance...it's quiet and peaceful and so relaxing there...I stayed a week and could have stayed a month...the train to go into Florence is so convenient or to take a beautiful drive if you...

Genuinely, we thought someone was playing a trick on us. We opted for the marinated anchovies and out came toast with chutney on and a fingernail sized piece of anchovy. The duck was chewy and the fried fish was obviously frozen fish finger. Turns out it wasn't a joke. Don't waste your time.

Dear IntegralDJ, We were very disappointed to hear that you had a bad experience in our Restaurant L'Olivaia. We were not aware of any issue during your dining experience. If you all 4 diners were so unhappy and food was in fact “a joke” as you wrote, I am embarrassed for you not having enough courage to express yourselves on...

I stayed there last year on my own and was very impressed. Going back a second time there is always a risk of being disappointed. Not so - in fact it was even better. Such a beautiful place, with charm, style and character. The location is quite superb with the most amazing views. The whole team of people made us...

This has been undeniably the greatest experience you can ask for - should be my title. Since Great experience requires more justification, here we go: Villa is located 6 km on the hills above Vecchio lovely little town. If you would like to do some walks then you can walk into the city or wander around vast areas that belong...

Beware, the photos on the website have nothing to do with reality. The place is fusty and cold. The staff is not really friendly and the location and views are not what one would expect on a countryside place. The resort is far away and it is difficult to get there. If you are there, you cannot go out for...

Have just returned from 8 heavenly days in Villa Campestri. It is one of the most delightful places in the world where one can always rejuvenate one's spirits from all the hostility and chaos currently in the world. As always the receptionists are ever helpful; nothing is too much. The new menu is delightful with specials each day, all very...

This beautiful and lovingly restored Renaissance villa is truly worth a visit. Great care and attention to detail has been applied and the result is a glimpse into a more opulent past. The family who own and operate the hotel are warm and gracious hosts and the service cannot be faulted. Breakfast is served in the dining room or on...

Beautiful old Villa/Casale with lot of space/nature around, clean air, great panorama/views, great for a family during summer to enjoy the most. Negative points are the somewhat difficulty to reach it (out from beaten tracks), the lack of internet in the room, and the sometime missing mobile phone signals, all typical problems when in old Villas/Castles, since the deep walls....

We spent a full week in this most delightful of Tuscan Villas. Having breakfast al-fresco every morning, enjoying the view is really something to behold. You really cant beat the taste of honey, straight from the comb, astonishing! It's very easy to find, with or without sat-nav, we used a map from the car hire place at Florence airport, got...
