The worst place that I have EVER stayed in. Room smelt weird, and was very old and dirty. Dampness on wall , beds uncomfortable . Staff were rude and made things unclear and were very confused. The stay was very over priced. Do not stay , would definitely NOT recommend it

Rented the self catering house adjacent to Gray's Guesthouse with my extended family. It's a 3 bed house with plenty of beds, but that's the only advantage. It really is in a poor condition. It is damp and a smell of damp permeates most of the house. There is mold growing on the wall in the "sunroom". Quite a few...

For €100 per room a night it's very over priced. Smelt strange. Small rooms. Not close to any restaurants and no longer offers dinner options. No WIFI at all. When we asked about WIFI the lady rudely told us "this is Achill! You won't get WIFI on the island!" We drove just down the road to Cliff House (the first...

We are a group of landscape artists who travel arounds these fair isles......painting its magnificent breathtaking landscape.from early spring through to late summer. Our chief of locations.......really came up trumps in finding this wee jewel in achill.Set into the side of a mountain called slieve mor , Geays humble B&B. Is most welcoming to the weary visitor. The village townland...

We have spent the last week in Gray's chalet. It was fully furnished, with many extras provided. Near the beach, it was a perfect week for us...4 adults and two young children. The hosts couldn't have been more helpful or hospitable. They went beyond hospitable in providing our 50th. wedding anniversary dinner with the table theme in gold and flowers....

Gray's Guesthouse is quaint & yes a little old fashioned but that is what makes it so wonderful in this idyllic setting. My room was called the Pink Room and it was very well appointed with a great en suite and wonderful shower which was much needed after completing the Half Marathon on the 6th of July. A good hearty...

I spent a weekend at this guest house where there is now excellent value for B&B and also for evening meals. Based at the foot of Achill's Slievemore Mountain, it was once part of the nineteenth century Achill Mission Settlement at Dugort. An ideal location if you like a peaceful, scenic spot, and a good base for exploring the wider...

Thanks to Vi and her fantastic team - my wife and baby son had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay in Grays in Aug 2012. Grays is an authentic Irish guest house, full of Irish art and still used as a retreat for up and coming artists. We took advantage of a cancellation short notice and Vi had an extra...

Stayed here recently as had no knowledge of Achill before and went by the recommendations on Trip Advisor! Definately would not recommend this place mainly because it is such bad value.Room was pokey, dated, with paper thin wall, towels with holes, shower was literally a trickle that was either scorching or freezing (ladylady said it was old, well get a...

The history, hospitality, and food remain as ever, wonderful. In addition, for the 2012 season, last autumn in 2011 Grays' Guesthouse have refurbished bedrooms, introduced a website (grays-guesthouse.ie), and priced Bed & Breakfast at €40 high season. There's really not much more that Grays could improve, do your heart good, and call in.
