We spent a great week at this hotel as part of a party of 16 walkers touring Mont Blanc. The accommodation is a little basic but the service was outstanding with David, the owner, leading from the front and nothing was too much trouble. If your French is uncertain then all the staff speak perfect English. The outside pool is...

Our family of three, including a toddler, stayed two nights in August 2014. Booked Hotel du Bois after reading the reviews. Overall, its value for money in the pricey Chamonix area. Hotel deco/furnishing is tired as aptly described by other reviewers. Afterall, it's a well used ski hotel. Room 312 was compact, bed was firm and comfortable. Water pressure in...

This hotel served as the base for our hiking adventure- Tour Mt.Blanc. It was small but clean, and a little tired... okay maybe more than a little. But it was comfortable and had everything that you could need. David, the owner, was very accommodating and helpful. As was the staff. For those with little, no, or rusty French, all spoke...

Enjoyed our trip to hotel du bois. David the owner was just great as was Nathalie on reception. All the staff in the restaurant were good. We were on a holiday with Inghams and the food was marked as buffet style whine it was not. This did not make a difference to us as the dinners were just great but...

In an area of great competition and premium rates in higher seasons we were not disappointed with our choice of a weeks stay here. Having driven from the UK it was a good location for seeing much of the spectacular region

We have just spent a super week's holiday at the Hotel du Bois in Les Houches just a short bus ride from Chamonix. We were fortunate enough to book a room with a view of Mont Blanc. On arrival we opened the balcony door and there it was, covered with snow against a brilliant blue sky. The 3 - course...

Really enjoyed my stay here. Room was lovely, bed was comfy, it's only a few minutes walk to the bus stop (which takes you into Chamonix). Staff happy to speak English and teach you a few French words if you are keen. The complementary shuttle to the les Houches slopes certainly topped the holiday off.

Our hotel choice was dictated by availability ; it was a last minute decision to go for a long weekend at half term. But we weren't disappointed with our choice. The croissants at breakfast were fab, and there was the usual fare - ham, eggs etc. we didn't use the pool but it looked nice. The bar was very comfortable...

This was our third visit to the Hotel du Bois, we return because the hotel does and is everything it promises. We were a large family group celebrating a big birthday, wives, girlfriends, grand child, so we took one of the large chalet apartments and two rooms in the hotel. Everyone was happy with the hotel at all levels, the...

We could not fault this hotel. The attentive staff could not do enough for us and the owner seemed to be there 24 hours a day making sure we were well looked after. We had three young children with us and it was great to have the bonus of pool and games room, free wifi and family friendly but gourmet...
