Stayed 5 days at Shantidham and didnt regret it. Our cottage was basic, clean and comfortable, all good for a budget option. The bed had a mosquito net which wasn't needed for us, which is unusual for my wife! The shower and toilet were good. The balcony had an amazing view, so did the various terraces where you could eat from the restaurant. We saw a dolphin and some monkeys from our balcony along with the usual bird life. It was a short walk along the cliff path to Om beach with several shacks and eateries. I would recommend a torch per person if you plan to go out or come back in the dark, we're in our late 50's and survived many times. I would definitely book again.

This place is sweeter than the sweetest 🍯 We stayed for 2 relaxing weeks. This is a gem for all of you who love peace and quiet. Yes it has the best view of the ocean, and it's nice and clean and has a good shower, but the best is the team who run the place. Their energy is so friendly and you’ll feel like you’re at home ❤️ The food is more than excellent, it’s done with both the heart and the brain.✨

If you want some privacy away from the crowds of Om beach, this is the place to choose. I've been coming to Om beach for and this place is the "new secret." It's hidden, 3 mins along the coastal footpath to Kudely beach, in the shade of tall pine trees. My room was spotless (they were all built this year) and the only sound at night was the breaking of waves on the rocks below. Quite mesmerising. The ensuite huts all have private verandas that you can string up a hammock on. There are 6 huts and I chose one with a completely private veranda but some of the others give views of the cafe. The food is good and the beers are ice cold! I also don't think there are many better places to watch the sunset. The only downside is it's upside. The 3 min walk to the main beach - but this is what makes it special. If you're after parties or techno music, or large groups of people to socialise with, then this is not the right place. If you are chasing silence - have some quiet work to do - or you are a couple wanting some quailty time - or are someone wanting a quiet calm place to chill or do yoga (they have cleared some flat areas for this ) then this place is for you. The staff are super friendly, easy going and just let you get on with doing nothing quite happily.

A 15 min up and down gradient walk on a dirt track from Namaste accomodation just above Om beach.Fabulous views of the sea on the walk and you are at Shantidham cafe.
If you are coming by road you can park your car in Namaste Accomodation for a daily Rs 100 fee. There's a path going down from Namaste accomodation to Namaste cafe which is way easier to access than the other route.Shantidham sends a staff member to pick up your luggage if you give them your arrival time in advance.

The cafe has a view to die for with chairs and loungers put at different levels all facing the sea.Perfect place to spend time gazing, lazing, reading or surfing the net.Good WiFi.

All rooms are at different levels. The room is very very basic with a double bed.Ours had old but clean mismatched sheets and 2 hard pillows and One table.A ceiling fan,no ac,adequate lighting.A clean attached bathroom with a very small wash basin. Attached balcony with the same gorgeous view.

The food- Best avoided!
There is a scruffy looking most disinterested Nepali cook who dishes out the most tasteless and unpalatable dishes. We ordered Palak paneer (very small portions, made in a hurry )and Naans that were not baked properly with sides still raw.
The noodles were the most tasteless with an abundance of cabbage and the worst ever had.The peanut masala had a rancid taste and had to be returned, with the cook not bothered that it was!
Having had this experience on day one we didn't venture to try out anything the next day.
One staff member saw that we were dissatisfied with the food and offered to refund the rest of the stay. But the view was the clincher.
A tip-Namaste cafe is just a 5 min walk from here and one could eat there. The food there though nothing spectacular is no comparison to this rubbish.
My review on Namaste cafe coming up soon.

This place was not in the option initially, but just stumbled upon on tripadvisor befor making a booking. And trust me it is one of the best economical places to stay on Om Beach.

Pros :
1. Location. Its not on the shore. But on a hillock 3-5 mins walk from Om beach. Spectacular view of the beach. They only have 6 cottages operational and this is one of the very big pros as this place can never get crowded.
2. Economical : 800-1200 per room
3. Food : Quality and variety of the food is above average.
4. Courteous Service : Worth mentioning, Satish the guy who manages this place is a pro when it comes to delight a customer. He goes the extra mile to ensure you enjoy your stay here.

Can be improved:
1. Food Delivery Time : Since they have only 6 operational cottages, no food is kept ready. After ordering is when they start preparing everything. They can improve on this.
2. Necessities in the room : Can provide towels, bedsheets etc as a part of the room. We had to ask them to provide the same.
3. Online booking facility.

Would highly recommend this place for stay near Om/Kudle beach. Better than Gokarna international resort and other places at this price point.

I am a regular traveler of Gokarna and until now my fav. place to stay at OM beach was Namaste Café for an easy access to the beach.
But due to unavailability of rooms I had decided to stay in Shantidham Café which was referred by one of my friend.

It was about 2-3 min walk from OM beach through a rocky pathway which leads up to the stay. The rooms were decent in size with clean and quite surrounding. The best and my most favorite is the open sitting area they have made by cutting rocks stepwise for sun bathing, to enjoy evening breeze with yummy food and to even watch Dolphins jumping out of water (we lucky to have that chance). The sea is deep so you can’t get into water but can get down to reach rocks and enjoy the waves splash.

We trekked from resort to reach Kudle beach, the route was safe and preferred by lots of foreigners too.
My overall experience with this place is just awesome, above all I found something other than my regular stay.

My partner and i stayed here in September. The season hasn't quite started yet so many places were still closed. Shantidham has lovely little bungalows perched upon the cliffs. Its a short and peaceful walk (3-4 mins) from the beach. We had an ocean fronted balcony and at breakfast in the morning's we watched the dolphins play in the bay. Langurs swinging from the trees and eagles overheard were other highlights. We had a fantastic stay. Definitely recommended. Skip the crowds of Goa and head to Gokarna!

It's hard to explain how great this place is, firstly its location is for me perfect. Perched in between kudli and ohm beach. acsess to here is along a wonderfully secluded path, just walking towards it you start to get the feeling that your about to stumble upon something special. Once you arrive the restauant and chilling out area has the best views overlooking the Arabian seas, we spotted many dolphins and seeing them was a daily occurrence from this spot. The food is cooked to order here so everything is fresh and tastes like it is made with love, local dishes as well as finger chips for my children where available. The rooms are perched up high on the hilltop and offer the same wonderful views. They are well maintained clean and provide you with towels and bed linen and a fan, they also have a lovely breeze on the balcony. Hot water is available by the bucket if required but for me a cooling shower and sunset was perfect. I hear so many travellers talk about wanting to find something new and unspoilt, this is it. The owner is also carefully cultivating the garden areas all around the resort providing your eyes and nose with wonderful sights and smells. This is the real deal, catch yourself a stay here before it gets to busy with only 6 huts this is an exclusive and secluded getaway from the trappings of life. Enjoy

what a find, simple rooms set amongst the trees overlooking the Arabian Sea. Set away from Om Beach along a track ...sit on one of the small terraces overlooking the rocky coastline and take in the morning sun or relax with a cool beer at sunset.
Food is adequate and the staff friendly and very helpful. Coming back in March.
