It's a shack located on the middle side of the beach as Om beach is really big.
It had good food and drinks. There was ample place to lounge in the shack. Since it's located at the beach, it has a great view of the beach and even of the sunset.
You can smoke and drink here. Food variety is also the same as most other places in Gokarna, but one of the best on Om Beach

My wife and young son stayed at Nirvana for three months at the start of this year. My teenage son and I stayed for ten days, left to travel around India for three weeks, and then came back to stay here for another ten days. I didn't wish to leave a review and publicise this lovely place to people who may not appreciate it fully, it's best kept to those who know, but having read some of the utter nonsense written in reviews here, I simply had to respond for the sake of truth! Any suggestion of rudeness from the staff is poppycock! They are caring and attentive, always. The food here is not only safe, but nutritious, tasty and very well prepared. They even have a real wood fired pizza oven that produces heavenly reminders of home. The native Indian food is first class! If you wish to experiment with the variety of international dishes, perhaps you should expect something other than what you have imagined unless you ask the staff, who are always happy to give a detailed explanation. If you are not open enough to accept that a waiter in a beach cafe may not have a perfect grasp of your language, perhaps you shouldn't be visiting India at all?! Go back to little Russia, sorry, Goa!!! Go to a place where you get that service, which, unfortunately for you cheapskates, will cost you ten times more! What the hell do you people expect?! This is a wonderful homely and loving place if you are open yourself. If not, go home! Go to Benidorm! The senior manager, Suresh, is a gentleman, intelligent, educated and reserved. The daily manager, Manu, is a caring, thoughtful and helpful person, willing to put himself out to assist those who do not judge or give hostility or malice, as I saw some people do. You know who you are! The tour agent who is based here, Naguraj, is one of the kindest and most helpful, sincere people I have ever met. If you use the in house travel services, you will not be disappointed, and you will not find cheaper options or better service by doing it yourself. Naguraj spent many hours arranging in fine detail, the specific requirements of our tour around the North. Nobody could have given more effort or offered better suggestions and alternatives! If people on here disagree, I would suggest that the problems are theirs and not those of the Nirvana staff and management, which is first class in all respects! I would sincerely like to suggest to such people who have left negative reviews here, that they go away, stay away, and keep their friends away, because that way this will continue to be an amazing place to stay for right thinking people.

We spent a great week here. We saw other accommodation before we found a nice hut here. Mannu runs the place really well and his staff are very helpful. It seems the best option on the beach. Food is good - best things on the menu are the thalis and they do a great pizza!!

This restaurant is racist and shows the substandard to we Kannadigas and Indians. I have travelled abroad many years, my English is fluent, business class etiquettes. But these guys at Niravana did not even allow to enter the restaurant. At the gate only he stood up giving lame reasons like there is no cook and food will be delayed by 15 minutes, 30 minutes etc, we said ok. Later he said there is a huge queue and listings.. though we see only foreigners divining. Felt embarrassed at the door itself. This incident occurred on 11-03-2017.
Similar incident happened the same place even in 2013, when asked for accommodation he straight always said "No" on face. But got to know foreigners were checking in the same day next hour. This is just gross and the behavior and attitude towards we Indians.
This will be taken to the higher notice

I've never written a review on here, am generally a laid-back, easy to please traveller. While our room here was very nice and clean, the staff at nirvana were arrogant and unhelpful. We had planned to stay several days at Om beach (though upon arrival found the beach itself sadly full of trash and weren't so enchanted) but our experience with the staff (servers, management) at nirvana was so disappointing that we left the next day. We were made to feel like a nuisance and the staff rolled their eyes and laughed at us. The food is overpriced for what you get (cheap quality, small portions) and the servers either don't speak sufficient English or refuse to, to take an order. I understand that after a long season with probably numerous high-maintenance and difficult guests one can become a bit jaded, but this was out of proportion, especially considering that we were friendly and pleasant on our end. Absolutely can't recommend.

Spent 3 amazing weeks here at Nirvana! The Staff are all really friendly and helpful and very funny. The beautiful garden that surrounds the cottages are full of wonderful butterflies and banana and coconut trees. The food from the resturant is the best food i have tasted in Inda.

The accommodation is really pretty, clean and comfortable and it is a great place to rest your feet after travelling around India. The beach is at your door step and the sunsets in the evening are simply stunning.

I would recommend this place to everyone. Its truly a fantastic place to stay.

Cal from Scotland.

i started off at a different hotel and switched to this one, let me tell you it was the best decision ever! They have two types of rooms huts/ single beds with a shared bathroom and little bungalows with attached bathrooms and their own little porch. We had that latter because it was too amazing to pass up. The area were the rooms are is a paradise in its self. You walk behind the restaurant to a well maintained beach "garden" and the rooms are there. I ended up selling the place to many of my friends and before we left I had 5 friends in different rooms so I got to see a lot of them. They were all very clean and well maintained. The mattresses are nothing to write home about be good enough for a decent night sleep. The bathrooms are clean and spacious. All the rooms have mosquito nets over the beds as well. Overall the rooms are the best any of us found on om beach and everyone came from different guest houses on the beach. That being said they are a little more expensive, but so worth it.

The restaurant is also amazing. It's the most reasonably priced one on the beach for the quality and quantity of food you get. It is what initially got me drawn to the place. They also have wifi that "works" in the restaurant for a 30 rupee an hour fee. The place is literally right on the beach and most tables in the restaurant have a great view of the ocean. The vibe in the cafe is also the best on the beach. They allow anyone to play music so you get a large variety of music but somehow all very similar laid back music that is not all trace/techno ( thank god). I loved it so much I canceled my train ticket and extended my stay by three extra nights! Amazing place, absolutely paradise

when you arrive at the end of Om beach and walk towards the hotel you feel you are in for a good stay. The location is ideal with bungalows and smaller brick built beach huts nicely located in a really tidy garden, people cleaning the garden up every day.
I stayed in the smaller room with no attached bathroom, the room was really clean with nice bedding. There were plenty of good and clean communal showers and toilets.
I then moved into one of the bungalows for a few days, a lovely place with its own covered verandah set amongst the trees and less than I minute and you are in the sea.
I used the hotel travel desk and again they were really well informed and helpful
I can strongly recommend Nirvana as a place to stay.

This is one of the many shacks on Om beach of Gokarna. The huts are good and so is the food.. The service and staff is very courteous and ever ready to help you out.. This is right on the beach so you can laze around in the cafe or just outside watching people or gazing at the sunset..

Really good place to stay, decent rooms and friendly staff. The travel agent service provided is really helpful also. Just wondering if anyone has the contact details for Nirvana as I left something behind and need to arrange for it to be sent to me. Thanks!
