Detailed Reviews
Though I was not very lucky with my room, I have to recognize that coming to this lodge was definitely the right choice. In Gokarna, except of the mega-expensive SwaSwara and the pleasant Om beach resort you will find mainly some kind of "yatr niwas" ( accomodation for pilgrims) in Gokarna and "hippy-style" huts in Kudle and Om beach. This place is quiet, clean, confortable and near the beach. Hot water always. Also you'll find the best veg food in all gokarna area at BouganVilla, the hut-restaurant Of AryaAyurveda, but ask first how many pending orders do they have...

This place is a rip off as they are the most expensive in the area but get nothing for what you pay. We were promised hot water but none provided and when brought to the notice of Vera the lady in charge, she outrightly refused to help. The next morning at 8 she was having a staff meeting right in front of our room and speaking loudly about check out times , when politely advised her she was disturbing she just stomped out complaining about us to the staff (racist comments). We just felt completely unwelcome here as she asked us to leave on several occoccasions when v had problems with the room that just needed a little assistance. We asked if we could speak to the person above her and she refused to give a contact. I wouldn't want anyone to receive such aphalling treatment in a place where u pay a high price to stay and hence felt compelled to write out this review. Terrible disappointment :(

Well, my first interaction was with Vera, over the phone on reaching there and in person, was unprofessional and unfriendly. She comes across as a person who would only entertain Non- Resident-Indians or 'whites' in a way that would make them come again. I was called 'some-Indian-couple-with-a-booking' when she spoke to someone over the phone. I fail to understand the difference in attitude and behavior shown to different people. Also, there was fluctuation in electricity (during the day) which could have damages electronics. When I questioned Vera, the answer was not always direct and she would get on with her chores while I was standing there hoping to get a solution.- Answers are always vague. No one knows anything. The rooms are pretty clean, calm and relaxing. The waves can be clearly heard too. I am an animal lover. but the dogs there was unclean and infested with ticks. they were not even neutered.
My over all experience was poor, Food in the restaurant is good. I would recommend this place if you just want to unwind from all the noise and stress.

Worst massage experience ever !!!! Room have no Fan, no Ac , 38°c inside, wrong phone number, the manager is absolutely rude and no respect for the employees and the customers … if you are not happy Mr the manager , you can quit … for the happiness of everyone I think !
Special thanks to the therapist , the only professional and kind person I met !

After an unpleasant stay in the nearby Gokarna International, we were delighted to find this place which is directly behind the International, down a hard to find narrow path. There are two buildings. One, painted white with a garden that the capable manager was nurturing into shape. The other was an impressive building with a large Ayurvedic space that was not up and running when we were there. Dr Vera a Czechoslovakian biologist was in the process of perfecting and expanding the facilities of both places. She was helpful, dynamic and a most interesting person.
The rooms were immaculate with traditional bamboo beds, nets and bathroom with cold water from it's own well.
The Panchakarma building had an unfortunate encroachment of an illegal set of bamboo huts bordering the property and blocking the sea view but this will not withstand the next monsoon and the determined Dr Vera will find a way to establish equilibrium. Kudle beach is sensational with good food available and Gokarna town within walking distance.
Only downside for me was the traditional pillow was uncomfortable-- one criticism can't be bad.

I had tried calling the centre, but I never got an answer so I decided to make the drive from Palolem(3 hours). I asked about treatments and was told absolutely nothing. NOTHING! I was told to visit their website if I wanted to book into a treatment program. I was there in person and I was told to go away and get on the internet. I pressed a little further and asked if they take out patients for simple day treatment and the staff told me they did and so I asked when it was possible to make a booking. The doctor replied that they could not tell me when. I seriously would have considered undertaking a program and am very glad that I dropped in and did not book online. I got first hand experience of the type of operation they are running. I realised that they are only interested in the western guests that are currently staying and paying them a fortune. Munar has local centres that are much cheaper and not chasing the tourist dollar.

I had a really unpleasant experience at their restaurant! First the server lied to me about having internet then he lied the password then he cut off the connection then he was super rude about it than he told me to shut up. I spoke to the lady in charge she didn't care to listen properly and then she said that the server was rude but I cancelled a coffee order so it was understandable he was rude! Servers there are like robots ! No smiles, not nice pure energy flowing. What I call spiritual materialism!!! No heart no real medicine! Money making European rubbed BUSINESS!! Do not recommend!!!! The worst!!!

We were group of 8 people travelling. Despite numerous mails mentioning this detail to Vera, the lady in charge, we were informed on reaching that she could only accommodate 4 people. "I'm sorry but this is the situation" was the only response she gave us.
It was a long weekend and finding other places to stay, which we finally did, was quite a task for us!
The location is good but this can be said for all the other options on Kudle Beach, that come for a much lesser tariff.
The two rooms instead of four, that Vera finally could give us were very basic and highly priced.
This is basically an average stay option but given the experience we had, you can never be certain that you will get rooms even after you have made a booking.
You better have a back up plan if you are planning to stay here!

This is the best place to stay and eat at Kudle! Nice spacious room, friendly staff, great vegetarian clean food. At first the owner Vera may feel like someone unfriendly. But she is a nice person not a very socializing one though! We salute her for maintaining the place so well! There is huge cultural difference between us and her, but Kudle is more enjoyable with her place and food!
Our room was beach facing
Hot water in room throughout the day
Food was neat. Being vegetarian we felt comfortable eating at her place. One needs to tell normal oil if you can't have coconut oil.
They fill your bottle with distilled water for rs.10.
All staff speak kannada except Vera
Initially seeing so many foreigner one may feel out of place but everyone just takes care of their business
There are morning yoga classes if anyone is interested
If we again goto to Kudle we would stay at Bougainvilla/arya ayurvedic center

We came to Arya Ayurvedic centre after having a horrible night stay at a lodge at om beach.
The rooms were clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. The restaurant serves only vegetarian food, but it was fine, since their menu had extensive choice and the food was great. Try their oil massage - Very relaxing, handled by trained masseurs. Overall, excellent place to stay on kudle beach. Definitely worth the money.
