We visited this resort in the month of January just after New years and would like to share our experience. This resort is at a convenient distance from Bus stand and from OM and Kudle beach. We took an auto and it charged 100 rupees to take us to the resort from Bus stand. First impressions of the hotel were quite pleasant, infact better than what I had expected. It's a brand new resort, opened just a month ago. We were greeted by the staff at the reception. Though we arrived quite early than the check-in time of 2 PM, we were given a cottage in an hour, promptly after cleaning as it was available without any prior intimation. Though it's good to make an arrangement in advance. Rooms are pleasently neat and clean, comfortable and spacious and that too with a good view! Again full marks there! Afer we freshened up, we headed for breakfast Buffet (would recommend including that in your booking). Both Indian and English options are available and food is quite good incomparison with some of the other hotels I have been. Buffet spread is good too with plenty of options. After that, on our request the hotel manager arranged a Scooty for commute without any hassle. We spent the day site seeing and visiting, Om Kudle and Gokarna main beach, Kudle being the most scenic. On the next day(Saturday), there was a tribal dance show at the night arranged by the hotel. After spending couple of days we left with pleasent memories and mighty impressed with the hospitality.Special mention of manger Sumeet for his excellent hospitality and help.Kudos!! I would really recommend this place to anyone visiting Gokarna to stay here and enjoy the hospitality.

gokarna is a small almost rural area and stonewood resort is located on the side of a hill slope.
You will definitely need your own vehicle to reach the property. The resort is carved out on the side of a hill and therefor the approach to the property is a rough road of a few hundred meters from the main road.
Once we reached our property the staff quickly checked us in.
We were lucky because from the next day of our arrival the all reservations were cancelled due to corona virus.
The property is simply beautiful and has several cottages all at the ground level, some pool facing and some facing the lush forest around. Please see the photos
We were upgraded to pool facing cottages.
Rooms were clean and baths were modern but bath flooring has not been done properly.. Also the hot water in the shower is provided using gas fired heater so sometimes the water is scalding hot (even the taps becomes very hot to touch) and sometimes cold and very difficult to control.
Food at the restaurant was good. They also provided for food for our driver at rs 100 per meal and bath facilities which was absolutely decent of them.
There were a few activities arranged for small children (at extra cost) but not very impressed by it.
Wifi is poor but you can't expect much on the side of a mountain.
The property is not meant for seniors with difficulty in climbing.
Overall a great property if you wish to be in the midst of nature where you will naturally have a bit of rough edges.

We stayed for five days in February, and generally enjoyed our visit. The resort is located on a hillside, very quiet and peaceful. There is a lot of greenery, complete with monkeys. It is a little remote if you don't have a car, but they will call an auto for you to visit Gokarna village or the nearby beaches. The cottages themselves are very comfortable with a modern bathroom, and most of the amenities one requires, like a flatscreen TV, a fridge, a small patio. Aircon was good, and Wifi fairly reliable. The rooms are kept reasonably clean with linen, water, soap replenished as and when required. There was no in-room safe when we arrived. When we enquired they brought a little safe box that was placed in the wardrobe - well, anyone could have just picked it up and walked away with it! The bathroom was good with an excellent shower and plenty of hot water. Our rate included breakfast, which was mostly Indian, nothing too exciting but not bad once they understood we wanted decent black coffee and not the thin milky coffee from the buffet. We had all our dinners and a few lunches there since there is no other option in walking distance. Again, there is a reasonable choice and the food is nice without being outstanding. Alcohol is of course not available in Gokarna. Usually there is quite a long wait though, service is generally slow . The restaurant opening hours are extremely limited which is a shame in a place with no alternatives, and room services only offers light snacks. The pool is lovely if a little cool, but there are only four loungers for 30 + cottages! Staff were lovely, very friendly, but seemed poorly trained. The manager Sumit is extremely helpful and quite efficient.A place with enormous potential!

We had visited this place and write from checking in in the property we found it that the rooms were completely sanitized the staff to additional care tu to keep the rooms safe clean since we had children traveling with us. The staff wer very cordial. The food it was excellent it and we really like the overall accommodation while we wore staying.

This was my first travel to Gokarna and had read good review about this resort. I loved this place but the room sizes are average, do not have suite or bigger room options. I guess there is just one suite and that too wasn’t available. I need to work at times during my travels and always have a need for bigger rooms. Other than room size for workaholics like me, this place stands out. Food here is amazing and there is no comparison to any other place outside. The resort is very neat and clean and highly maintained. Service was little slow but not alarming. And this is not overly priced too, fits very well to the budget too 😀. Swimming pool was opened and they maintained discipline with the usage, allowing it per family and trying to cap it up with times keeping some time for themselves to clean too.

We drove down from Goa for 2 nights 3 days trip, choose stone wood based on the reviews and we were not surprised. Nestled in the forest/ farm is a 20+ room resort with well-appointed spacious rooms and clean bathrooms. Like: Clean, comfortable rooms, good service, green surroundings, pool, and some activities for kids. Opportunities: As the phone signal is bad, a must-have is strong and reliable wifi, the wifi connection was terrible, struggled to do any work. *So if you are planning to take a work vacation then pls. be warned that you will have a lot of anxious moments Food is average to good depending on what you order, BF spread is nice, can be better. This is a resort so you don't have any eating options around, you need to go to the town, about 10 min drive. Can offer local cuisine in the resort More entertainment options at the resort in the evening I approach from the main road is a dirt road which has steep descend, and to move around the resort you need to climb stairs, so be check before booking Staff and the Manage are friendly. The staff can do more on advising guests things to do, places to go, timing to make the experience wholesome. More parking options on the weekend We had a raid of monkeys jumping from trees on to the roof of the rooms and jumping back into the forest....it was a spectacle but ALL Safe Overall a good place to spend a few days.

Its a nice resort in the wood. Rooms are decently sized, clean and contemporary with extra spacious toilets and shower. We had booked a suite which is slightly more spacious than a room (suggest normal cottages) but had to settle down to a normal cottage as there were too many steps to take, for my parents. Overall a nice ambicence with a pool, pool beds and a restaurant. The flip side to this place is that there are no elevators and it's a climb to the restaurant and rooms. If you have a bad knee or aged seniors it's better to avoid. Perfect for young couples who are on a holiday and photoshoot mode. They do not serve buffet everyday and it's a preset menu when they are lean on guests. Food is reasonable.Courteous and accommodating staff. A special mention to Sumit at the reception and Ganesh and team at the restaurant who took care of us and my parents by catering food to the room and making an early breakfast available on the day of departure. Food for drivers is available too at a reasonable cost. Overall, a nice stay and I would recommend it to fit and able bodied youngsters!

After searching for almost a week, zeroed in this responder and it turned out to be a good decision. The resort is on the way to kudle beach. They have parking for around 8-10 cars at a time.
The check in process was very smooth considering covid restrictions all over.
The rooms are big and spacious. Bathroom was very neat and clean and sanitized.
In house restaurant will take care of all your tummy needs. Breakfast has good options for everyone.
Highlight is the beautiful swimming pool at the centre of the resort surrounded by a make shift tropical forest. The entire surrounding looks so serene when in the pool.
Negative: this place has lots of steps 1. This place is not wheelchair friendly. 2. If you are with any senior citizens, then this place is not for you as there are many steps to be taken to reach any place in the resort, be it restaurant, rooms, reception, swimming pool etc. This is mentioned in the website as well.
Few suggestions: not a deal breaker 1. Please include fish items in the menu. Being a coastal place, expected some local fish cuisine. 2. Our package included breakfast and dinner (ala carte). Not sure how it works but I felt it would have been easier for the restaurant staffs to prepare buffet for dinner rather than catering to ala carte for everyone at dinner. I was okay with the option provided to me but the staffs looked burned out. 3. Toilets/changing room near the swimming pool. It is difficult to run to the restaurant restroom for your basic needs. 4. Though there was covid protocol in place, the management let one more family in the pool even though the pool was booked by me for 3 families in that particular time slot. We were informed that prior booking is necessary and will not allow any other group to join in. When enquired with the reception person later, it seems there was some confusion while booking and the pool slot was booked for same time for different groups. Could have been managed a little better.
Overall a great experience.

Accommodation is beautifully set amidst a picturesque farm and the staff were all fabulous. There is a pool which is well maintained and the service at the restaurant is excellent! My husband and I arrived after a 14 hour train journey with our three children and were greeted and warmly welcomed by the charismatic Suraj, who was very courteous and professional. There is easy access to all the beaches from the resort by foot-if you like to walk! We had two rooms, one of which had some damp on the walls but the rooms were very clean and housekeeping never failed to turn up when required. We ate our breakfast and dinner at the restaurant, the Chinese food by Chef Prashant was excellent and being welcomed at breakfast every morning with a masala paper dosa at breakfast was a treat. The restaurant staff, Anil, Melwyn and Anuj never failed to please and their service with a smile was brilliant and a fantastic start to our day. At the end of our stay we were bid farewell by the lovely Anand and Shilpa from reception who efficiently checked us out and sent us on our way. All the staff were very attentive and this resort is a place we would certainly visit again as we were unable to go to paradise beach due to high tide and will certainly visit again. Stonewood is a little jewel in Gokarn with staff that are a treasure! Thank you to the Stonewood family.

We serve ala -carte orders for all 3 meals at fixed timings. Menu card is provided in Rooms for Guests intending Room Service. The same can be enjoyed in our Restaurant as well.
We lay Buffet for Breakfast Hours as Majority of our Guests are with Breakfast inclusive Package. Those booked only for stay can avail buffet breakfast or ala carte orders at extra cost.
