We visited Makara Village on its soft opening after the pandemic lockdown. We were first and only customers on reopening and had the place to ourselves. Makara village is of 12 quaint cottages in two rows and manicured lawns around. Cottages are single room with double bed, sitting and sit out on verandah. Cottage size is good and bath-toilets clean. Not upmarket but neat clean and no-fuss rooms. Only veg restaurant was open when we visited and food was good. They catered to our weird orders. The resort is right on Karwar Mangalore Highway. It is an ideal place for stopover when travelling south from Goa etc, or place to stay near temple town of Gokarna. The temple is 12kms (20 minutes) away and the beaches are around 30 minutes. Though it is on highway, it was peaceful inside. A good stay …
Good place to have a quick bite at cheap rates. Service, Ambience, Orderliness, Quality all average. Too much delay as the staff strength is very low.. But nice parking by road side and hygienic food. Please expect only a standard restaurant service. Veg and Non veg areas separate..
Booking Ref#110984481453 with yatra. Booking made in Sep'18 for New year's day. Upon arrival, hotel just denied accommodation and refused to honour yatra booking voucher. When called Yatra, they sounded helpless and offered for refund. i did not have any choice but to beg for accommodation since it was peak season and my family with 2 small kids are also with me. Hotel took advantage. they gave a down graded room. Then shifted us from 1 room to other in between the trip.
I stayed here with my family in October-2018. The room was neat and clean, bathrooms were clean too. Regarding the room services, the services provided are not quick but a bit delayed. A good place to stay if you are with your family.
Best Place to Stay with Family. Little quite place even though this cottage is beside the NH - 66. Rooms are well build, neat & Clean. Staffs are good. Food in that sea foods are mouth watering. Overall Just awesome. Thank You
One of the worst hotel visited life, people in repection are very rude. Rooms are horrible and stinky. Bathrooms in public toilet are much better than this and they do not provide even drinking water.
Accidentally came across this place while going to Yaana from Gokarna, and we ended up having food at this restaurant 4 times during our 3 day stay in Gokarna. We mainly had sea food items, and it was good and definitely worth the money. Anjal fish tawa fry was the stand out dish for us. Situated on Mangalore-Karwar highway, this place is convenient for those who have their own transport.
Not suitable for families. Stains on walls. Very old mattress. Midnight power is not there for 1 hour and nobody is there to turn on the generator. Cigarette smell is coming in the rooms. Food is average. Ample parking is available.
Appearance is deceptive. There were cockroaches small/big in bathroom/bedroom. Service poor. Food quality ok. Dirty linens. Toilet stinking. Overall experience not satisfactory. Not fit for families. Dog menace.
