Set in the heart of the beautiful Gwili Valley and just 4 miles outside the centre of Carmarthen, the Hollybrook is the perfect place to stay. We are a family-run business with a new extension offering a fantastic 60 seater restaurant and 7 en-suite bedrooms, all decorated to a very high standard. The bar area seats 30 and we also have a games area which is always popular with children. We serve food Mondays-Saturdays 12pm-2pm and 5pm-9pm. Traditional Sunday lunches are served from 12pm-2pm and the bar menu is available Sunday evenings from 7pm-8:30pm.

I work for a small company based in Cardiff, that had just taken on a contract to survey the post displays for a few large national chains within their stores.

This hotel was booked for me by the office staff, of the business where I work without any input from myself, which at times throughout my service with them has been very hit and miss with small independents such as this, when the booking came through from the office, I was apprehensive as to what would welcome me upon my arrival, I was pleasantly surprised, a very welcoming country Inn, kept in immaculate condition, without a spec of dust anywhere, which for me is a massive plus as it shows the staff really care about the place! Then came the time we all face in the evening, where it's time to get fed, simply all I can say is wow! The barman apologised for the shortened menu, (due to covid) which in my opinion was ample, I chose my meal, which was promptly served to myself and was just how things should be, lamb shank that literally falls off the bone with a touch from a fork! As full as I was at the end of my meal all I could think was I can't wait for breakfast! Which fully lived up to every expectation...

In short, Stop Thinking, Start Booking!

Booked quickly for work via booking.com and got the wrong day.
They still let me in and amended the card so that booking.com didn't charge me again.
The place is very clean and well kept, although I am sure some people would say the decor is outdated. I however like the charm.
The food is standard pub stuff, but it was served with love, so I like it.
I've stayed in some stunning places for the same, or less than £78 I paid, so I imagine a few might raise an eyebrow at the price for what it is.
But ya know what, I like it, and I'd stay again 👍

We went here for Sunday lunch last weekend and had a really lovely experience. There is plenty of easy parking outside. The interior is very pleasant and homely. The place itself is clean and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There was an excellent selection including vegetarian option. There is the choice of two courses or three courses and we chose to have all three… portions are good and the food was excellent. Everything was very tasty, hot and homemade. We will be returning and will recommend to anyone wanting good food at a reasonable price.

Where to start... I have passed here so many times and it looks so inviting. My advice, keep passing.
The joke around the bar is “ Don’t ask for anything or you will be sorry” and we were. From the second we walked in we were made to feel like we had interrupted the blonde barmaid. She was rude, impatient and down right nasty at times. We were charged £1.60 for tap water that was tepid and we were rushed our food. When asked if we could wait a short while for food, she turned around and slammed both hands on the door as she went back to the kitchen. Obviously the microwave and chip pan had a queue and she was fretting.
Food was plain, basic , frozen and warmed up. Steaks were thin and tasteless.
The other barmaid was a dream and so was the young waitress. Thank you to them.

Went out for an evening meal with my partner to the Hollybrook tonight. I was so impressed with the decor, the service and friendliness of the staff. And when it came to the meal, well what can I say it was outstanding, well presented and so tasty. I highly recommend eating here and we will definitely be visiting again and will recommend to all our friends and family. Well done Hollybrook and thanks again for an enjoyable dining experience.

Had an excellent stay here. Comfortable rooms, good breakfasts, nice reasonably priced evening menu, plenty of free parking, friendly hosts. A few miles north of Carmarthen, close to lovely countryside and within easy distance of beaches.

I was joining friends for dinner at The Hollybrook ... I looked it up and saw that they had accommodation.
I made a reservation.
What a fantastic little place. Great , home cooked food prepared with local, fresh ingredients.
First class rooms and facilities that are so difficult to find these days. Spotlessly clean from top to bottom.
This wonderful Inn with rooms is a family run , hands on business and they should be congratulated.
I shall return!

Don't be put off by the stark photograph of the Hollybrook that invariably accompanies most internet search results for B&B in Carmarthen.
This little gem lies some 4 miles from the town, in the tranquil Bronwydd valley, flanked by farmland and woodland carpeted in drifts of snowdrops and shrouded by the echo of running stream.
A family run hostelry, very clean, warm, comfortable and well appointed. We received a warm and convivial welcome from mine host and enjoyed a quality evening meal from a very acceptable menu in the Brook Restaraunt.
Rooms are quiet, spacious, comfortable and clean.
Don't expect a mobile phone service, but an acceptable Free WIFI service is usually accessible throughout.
Travellers with restricted mobility should be aware that all rooms are on the first floor, accessed by two short flights of stairs.
The Gwili steam railway operates from the village.
This establishment will definitely be on our list for a return visit

The photo's of the rooms don't do it justice. Stayed overnight - the food was great (quite big portions!) - and the host was excellent. Very quiet - one of our party had a room at the front and this wasn't a problem .Would thoroughly recommend it.
