Four of us popped in for an early dinner - recently refurbished and looks good. Two of us are vegans and they adapted the mushroom and lentil shepherd's pie which was really good. Not a fan of the current trend for brioche buns with burgers so the meat eaters had pie of the day - good pie not the old...

Great surprise on entering for our 2 nights stay. Beautifully furnished and decorated to a very high standard right down to the cutlery! Staff delightful, friendly and extremely helpful. Although the bedrooms are in a separate annex (three minute open air walk to main building) can be advantageous to come and go as you please and keep possession of your...

First time ive been in here since its refurb, the place is light and clean bar is good, beer a bit on the expensive side but ok. Decided to book a meal here, tried all day to phone but no answer so just turned up. Was shown to a table, very very bright lighting no chance of a romantic setting,...

The County Hotel is now on a par with any good restaurant in the area. The furnishings are very comfortable and the restaurant is both light but cozy. Good menu and children are welcome. We have eaten here a number of times and intend to go back.

Beautifully clean and tidy after recent refurb. Good service and tasty food. Only minor, but irritating, fault. 7.30 on a Monday evening ran out of home cooked chips and offered French fries instead. You know the ones I mean, pale yellow and tasteless artificial things out of the freezer. How a chef could do that puzzles me. Tip - there...

Fantastic Sunday lunch. Lovely menu choices. Whole family chose Sunday carvery. Fabulous choice, meats all superbly cooked, vegetables fresh with a rich homemade gravy. Superb service by attentive, effect staff. We will be returning.

Visited today as have dined at their sister site in Clifton twice this year and love their carvery so thought we'd have a drive up... We were not disappointed it lived up to expectations. The restaurant was full and there was a kids fun day in the function room. I started with the garlic mushrooms and wife chose the ribs....
