It is a beautiful, tranquil spot yet restaurants, bars, local shops and the tourist information office in the former royal casino are only a few minutes walk.

We spent a week at this delightful B & B which we came across on the internet. It's run by a fab British couple called Rod & Caroline. Caroline cooks the best breakfasts ever & will also serve you up with delicious evening meals, whilst Rod waits on table & pours the wine! Guests are invited to eat al fresco or on the loggia, both with fabulous views. We felt that one of the many lovely things about our stay was the warm hospitality and the couples thoughtfullness. They have made a great job of renovating the house into not just a stylish place to rest your head but a real retreat, after a long day of soaking up the sun and culture of this wonderful part of Tuscany. We stayed in this super B&B in mid July and were very dissappointed that we didn't have more than 2 nights to enjoy our time there. Rod & Caroline, a charming British couple, are running a very cool establishment! Spacious , light, airy rooms with magnificent views, allowed us to relax into our surroundings after the normal trials of the journey. Pre-dinner drinks on their superb Loggia with stunning views of the bridge in Bagni di Lucca was an experience to be savoured. On our second evening, we ate at Villa Rosalena, where Caroline prepared a 4 course supper which we enjoyed on the Loggia.
